Yea, I agree, but I can tell you that my own use of LaTeX (I work at a public community college) is met with much hostility. Typically a response like, "why don't you just use Word!"
There's really no need for a conspiracy theory. Just look at the facts:
1. Everyone from the working poor to the working wealthy pay nearly 1/2 their incomes to various government agencies. 2. In turn your government has become the most dangerous thug in the world.
It looks more like you guys are taking a technical course; you've all been hoodwinked into thinking that calculus is concerned with approximates. It is not!
TeXShop is an excellent Mac OS X application for those who want to give LATEX a try. Installation is easy and does not require using X11, but you'll probably need to learn some LATEX first.
I really think it's worth the effort.

I recall a long time ago, a comedian saying that everyone should carry a firearm on a plane. It's kind of funny, but I am sure this disaster would not have happened if everyone was well armed.
Well, I've been running Mac OS X on an Apple iBook (Graphite, 320 MB RAM, Airport wireless) for almost a year now and it's one damn good machine. I only hope that Apple's next release of OS X will be as cool as the demo at MacWorld. You can also run Yellow Dog Linux if you want to avoid Mac OS X.

You need to type in a password, and it must be done from the Terminal. I think a noob wouldn't do that, do you?

LaTeX file is 71 bytes long. Here's the ASCII code:
\documentclass[11pt]{article}
\begin{document}
Hot time!
\end{document}
Try it, you'll like it!
