    The only problem with these is that one of them's misfired themselves off of Fox. Another has trouble carrying the message outside of their choir. As for freerepublic, their message seems to only reach the loyal and converted.

    Fair enough that some of them were given "favorable access", and driving out dissent.
    One more strike is they(Pajamas Media) failed to game Digg. They did get filtered out of there(Yes, they have their own corner. That corner is not easily found in a search.), and complain to this day.

    Just declare each "tax haven" a terrorist country and get on with it. While you can't just raid enough banks and stock exchanges here in the US without someone noticing, that would come close.

    They may have gotten Spitzer, but Wall Streeters (no, that doesnt include pension/mutual funds) need to know about the rules. When they violate said rules, they should feel something large enough not to pass on, and something they must face directly as those of Main Street face.

    having Google provide a slightly censored set of search results for people in China, or having Google be blocked completely for the Chinese and them being forced to use a China-run search engine? Do neither and motivate them to use their unfiltered version by the lack of a filtered version.

    If Google doesn't keep its foot in the door in China, then there is absolutely nothing it can to do try and promote change. Perhaps being right outside their reach and providing other services in places such as Hong Kong and Taiwan that would put the local services to shame. Push them to push their government.

    If Google doesn't censor results, the Chinese government would be more than happy to just block them completely. Return the favor, and block known IP ranges that correspond to Chinese government facilities. Return the message they return to blocked sites. Normal users who get around the filter would be just fine.

    They've allowed filtering as required by local laws, which is the entrance criteria. However, they also offer a fully uncensored site to those who know how to get to it (and yes, many Chinese know how to get to real services). That's compliance with China, full stop.

    You're clearly confused about the work that Google is doing for you and your privacy. The only privacy they know is the kind done by their invitation system. That's it.

    You have your facts confused. China had deals with MSN and Yahoo! that were outright and undeniably evil (Yahoo! having gotten some bad press over turning over records on dissidents who were then jailed). That does not make Google's deeds less evil for assisting.

    patriotic, God-fearing Americans shopping the aisles of Walmart? Those have never walked the earth since Sam Walton died, taking all the US goods with him. Now, they spend money antagonizing anyone who questions their presence. Should a product be defective, they'll pass you to someone more corrupt than Enron.

    Or Slashdotters boasting about the price they paid for piece of electronics similarly made in China? You misspelled junk.

    The difference with Google is their background having no shred of humility - merely Stanford snobbery. Try again when they have only one class of shares and someone forces their hand out of China.

    Producing your own quality products in the US with US workers(or even a worker-friendly country) are 2 cardinal sins according to them.
      What's needed is someone who doesnt mind screwing over the (globalization happy)business community. We came close to having someone like that with Spitzer, and Strickland of Ohio fills that role here quite nicely. We already had the means and the know-how to do it quite well in-house. Bringing it back does not mean raking workers over the coals.

    We do not need them, for they only make junk.

    I've seen many folks using programs like this and they have ruined many MMOs, (esp. FFXI and Lineage 2). You know it's bad when a botting program is part of game strategy, ala Lineage II. You know when it gets worse when they recognize people who train botters by removing item drop penalties.

    (a high level necro/swordsinger/ee/bh that has milked many bots for gear, and continues to train bots for fun and room clearance)

    To put it simply: my mother in law received an open heart bypass that she would not have received in the UK, but she had private health insurance and it paid the entire $100,000 tab. The UK(as seen today) is a textbook example of what happens when you have a mad lady called Thatcher rip things apart, some acolytes to keep the press at bay, and an urge to lose all national identity/sovereignty over the next 20+ years.

    Explain the thuggery that unionbusting has employed. Maybe there should be a look into it, as they'll move to IT when they get word of it. The only shame(to them) is that we already know their tactics and strategy. If you don't let them drag it out, they can't bring in their thugs(internally developed or externally developed).

    In point of fact, the USA economy continues to grow, has a lower unemployment rate than most other countries, and has the most opportunity of any nation. Indeed, the current European criticism of the United States is that that long overvalued dollar, now reaching a more correct valuation, is making life difficult for Germany and France to export their way out of its ridiculous social expenditures. God forbid, if the dollar hits $2/EU, then Europeans might actually have to work for a change. Only if you keep on removing people who have not found work after a short time. Otherwise, you've got something quite in line with Europe.

    As this film hasn't been released, I give Network Solutions the benefit of the doubt.

    I myself think that it's difficult to be too nasty to any religion. But difficult is not the same as impossible. For instance, if this film incites violence against adherents of Islam, then a ban (and prosecution of those responsible) is the right move. Unfortunately the mods missed - the movie itself is flamebait. Those who come from both ends of the spectrum on Islam will no doubt make their voices heard.
    If that was what he intended, fine - but he should have been a bit more careful about selecting a provider.

    I'd consider the entirety of folks in Pajamas Media(LGF, Malkin, etc.) fanatics of an equal degree for them not even documenting much if anything towards peace. They foam at the mouth when things like this happen. The universal opinion with their walled garden is that they are not fanatics, yet foam just the same.

    * Someone on Digg threatens their small (unseen) corner? Attack!

    * Someone wishes to show that there are peaceful people in Gaza that would rather be uninvolved? Demonize!

    * Someone points out that they're paying for oil that comes from Saudi Arabia, pointing their policy on Israel? I'm not sure, but my guess is (short of a prepared talking point in their possession) is that they'll look towards their cooperation towards the US.

    * Someone amongst them misfires, and quits in shame? Attack those calling it victory!

    * Someone states that they're a "one opinion" community and that restriction of opinion is good? Demonize them as a Kossack(even if they aren't)!

    But that wouldn't make for good news if they showed the lives of the peaceful among the claimed fanatics. Nor would it be news to show that both protect their own communities in their own form. Digg does it by keeping them in their own corner, DKos for banning, both on open terms(to name a couple of the groups attacked).

    Of course, should you find some way to incapacitate China, how would the business community react? Well, it'll end up being our next destination (China) the way we're headed in terms of conflict. With the record China is getting, it might be a good idea to know friend from foe. That includes the business community, who's enabled some of the more recent chapters (including Google and cisco, enablers of the censorship). Should our nation need to take action on a large scale, we must be able to do it - and not have the business community block us.

    Then we should add the entities within Wall Street(the kind who wanted Spitzer replaced with a yes-man ASAP) and organizations such as The Burke Group(and similar to in practice) for their contributions to the mix. Then see how well they can all tolerate millions of people with Spitzer's zeal watching over them.

    Should they want to be watched after the trial on them first, there may be something a bit wrong with how it's being done.

    Should you want to know the reputation of that person, this example shows his heavy slant towards pro-Israel fanaticism, for which does no real help, and more harm. Giving anyone over there or on the Pajamas Media Network a chance to fire that thing would have them fire at anything living - be it Hamas, uninvolved, or a stray animal(not to be confused with someone from a "terrorist group").

    That is why Charlie and his followers should be as far away from this thing as possible.
