The first CD-ROM game I owned, my 1x drive took so much tweaking to get that game to play smoothly. I spent at least as much time screwing around with EMM386 and CDR drivers as I did playing the game. But once I got into the game I was completely immersed, awesome story line, killer graphics, wonderful sound, and the puzzles were awesome. The cans, the cans, I hated the cans.

A couple of others that definately made my list are:
    • Sopwith Camel
    • 5.25 bootable spyhunter
    • Castle (40 column graphics game, my first pirated game:)
    • Space Quest IV

This move by M$ is similar to the way that a parasite invades a host (no pun). The parasite sees an opening, the smallest chink in the armor and moves in slowly at first, ie HIV. Invading only a few cells at a time converting those cells into factories manufacturing the needed resources to wage battle on the host, eventually overwhelming it.
Spagetti code is the same way, invading a *nix box in as a small insignificant application. Once a small ground has been gained it uses a small library to begin creating it's ultimate weapon, the DLL. Once one DLL has been created the end is nigh, for we have no cure for the DLL. After some time all DLL's begin to work on the ultimate DLL, kernel32.dll. If kernel32.dll gets created, all is lost, on the next reboot you will see the dreaded Windows splash screen and the little welcome to Windows box that doesn't have the clear check box on the first load. My friends you have reached the end of the road, ext2 no longer exists on your system.
To quote Capt. Picard "The line must be drawn here...." Fight the DLL plague.

I have to say that I completely agree with this point. Who gives a damn who is using Linux, I use Linux because I like it, I know how a computer is supposed to behave, and the power that it actually posseses. One of the reasons that windows/mac is crap in my opinion is that the designers have tried to hide everything that is the least bit "scary" from the user. It's kind of like buying a car with the hood welded shut. That is also a thing that I am scared of happening to Linux, all of these people who hear that Linux is a great thing, but are unwilling to learn a command line or how to write a shell script are going to turn it into another windows/mac look alike (kde). I personally do not want this, yeah sure I'm an eletist, damn straight I am, and I dont want my operating system studpidified because some moron is unwilling to spend the time that it takes to learn something new. I enjoy the freedom that Linux allows me right now, if we have to loose that freedom in order to widen the user base so certain IPO's can make more money I think we have a serious problem. IMHO we need to adopt a sort of "Cisco" mentality, yeah the shit is hard to use but it's the best and if you want the best you'd better learn how to use it.

He uploads NOMAD onto the Blue Screen and NOMAD mistakes him for the creator. SpJobs, Gatesvolds first officer does a mind meld with NOMAD and finds out that the creator was Torvalds. NOMAD then erases the memory of SAM and kills unit Registry because it sees that they are not perfect. Gatesvolds tells NOMAD that he is the creator and that he is not perfect so NOMAD should destroy itself but NOMAD is too smart for Gatesvolds and kills him too because he wears unstylish glasses and is obviously not perfect. NOMAD then destroys the USS Blue Screen and goes in search of his perfect creator Torvalds and his first officer Cox on board the USS-Kernel Panic. Then you would not have to waste your money on an os, and have a completely customized pc in three hours. Apps and everything. I'm pretty sure Joe Snuffy would think thats cool. Make the menus pretty and they will come.
