Most of the people who complain about doom 3 are annoyed that the guy in half life had a light on HIS freakin suit years ago, but a MARINE can't fire a pistol with a light in the other hand (which any policeman can do) or dig up a tactical light to attach to any one of his weapons.
As someone else said previously, that bit of unrealism, contrived to make the game scarier, kills the immersion right there.
DOOM 3 is not an old school FPS. Those have tons of monsters and a fast pace...D3 is slow, creepy and ambient, more like Clive Barker's Undying than Half Life
Windowsbeta.microsoft.com appears to be slashdotted...anywhere else this is mirrored? I'd prefer no torrent (even though a previous post of mine indicates im looking at them) because of connection issues (I get pathetic upstream, which makes getting good torrent rates difficult)
Thanks for the link...I don't bike (probably should start, my cardio sucks..) but i do lift weights and have been looking for a healthier way of getting a bit of extra protien (besides the whey supplement im taking) without having to buy more meat (poor college kid here)
You may well be the only vegetarian (as in quit-cold-turkey no meat no dairy) who does ANY sort of physical activity i've ever heard say that.
Color me impressed, however you manage it. The only vegetarian I know who has any sort of muscle mass still eats chicken or beef from time to time, though not much of it.
is there a brand name to the muesli you get or is it mixed in-store?
I imagine some admin deleted all the flamebait/troll reviews that cropped up from people who hadn't RTF'ing book but were simply pissed about the domain incident
When exactly did i deny that guns were for killing things? I'm only disputing the claim that P2P's intent is anything other than sharing files regardless of legality.
Also keep in mind Remmington doesnt advertise their line of hunting rifles by showing you what it does to a human skull in slow motion. Kazaa on the other hand, "Free songs/movies/warez here"
Except P2P software was designed for copyright infringement.
Sorry to burst your bubble, but what do you think Kazaa and kin sells their product by? The ability to get free indy music? Public domain stories? Linux disk ISOs?
Just out of curiousity, why do you suppose it's Microsoft's fault rather than Via's for pushing out a chipset driver with such huge issues present?
Especially considering that kind of issue with Via is not at all uncommon (sound card clicking and PCI problems and onboard RAID issues and so on and so forth)
Well, if you're into gaming, a 3Ghz hyperthreading P4 w/ 800mhz FSB stomps all over (perhaps all but the very newest) AMD offerings. Also for using number-crunchng software like smartPAR (basically RAID-redundancy for files if you're not familiar) hyperthreading cuts the time in half compared to an AMD cpu.
And yes, we have sat AMD and Intel machines next to each other at LAN sessions to check. Gaming performance is harder to measure (level load times are more telling than general performance), but watching the intel machine churn through smartPAR and reconstruct 200 megs of data from stripe sets in 7 minutes as opposed to the AMDs 14 is fairly easy to document and compare.
As for running hot, the machine we used for Intel's side was a shuttle rig, it ran hot, but well within spec, and was reasonably quiet
Have you ever used a Via chipset? If you have, I'm quite surprised you've never encountered any issues (most of which are directly tied to their out of date 4-in-1 driver system)
There are plenty of other reasons, though, all the way from "VP in Fortune 500 company wants to expose toxic waste problems without risking being found out as the source"
Don't you think they'd use something more reputable than a fringe P2P program ?

Interesting idea. Question though: Who will keep track of who landed where and when (for purposes of establishing ownership)
If high speed typing is so damn important the school boards should switch to Dvorak and we all know it.
Oh sure, lets teach them on a keyboard that is completely nonstandard.
What happens when they need to use a computer in a situation where they cant use their own keyboard or change settings to mimic Dvorak? They are back to square one and WORSE, making MORE typos due to reflexively typing dvorak-style.
My sophomore year in highschool keyboarding became a graduation requirement (I'd already taken it) I THINK for the whole state....to pass you have to demonstrate at least basic touchtyping skills as well as some other things (mostly office skills)

You're the second person to mention the DDOS thing...is that just rumor or what?

Thanks--I was asking based on suprnova torrents.
I'm seeing torrents for several diff file sizes (266 and 271mb) ....whats the difference?

what's a monoculture have to do with double standards regarding copyright infringement?

Just because you see Dad going to work or Mom going to the supermarket doesn't mean that vehicle isn't ever used more fully.
;)
Granted, it's not likely
News flash: General public clueless about an issue. More at 11...
LOL, i guess not, was attempting to delineate a little because RTFBook looked wierd to me

Or copyrighted songs, movies, and images?

Someone remind me, why should I use Intel?

There obviously is a benefit to giving out fake info otherwise no one would bother doing it.

You think you have a God given right to hand out fraudulent information?
Interesting.
Um...**looks around** .......... .......well.....I...yeah **raises hand**
