Actually, the Timothy Zahn novels got official Lucas sanction. They took place 5 years after RotJ and were pretty solid.
The dialog was good - he captured the characters, the plot was good, he stuck to the metronome, and you could practically hear John Williams in the background.
Well... since voter-turnout is at record lows, if all the 20,000 folks actually vote in a federal election, they'll probably have disproportionate clout.
If they vote at every opportunity (state & municipal), they will really make their point made!
Well... Not to prolong a flammable argument, but regardless of faiths, we all have to agree that holidays are celebrated, partly out of tradition and partly out of a response to human need.
If you're going the fundamentalist route, then you might want to boycott Christmas, too - Jesus wasn't born on December 25th - this date was used as a convenience, because it coincided with many non-Christian solstice festivals. (It made it easier to convert the heathens if you could show them how similar your religion was to theirs - not too much change is needed).
I'm just suggesting that for holidays, 'sometimes a cigar is just a cigar'. Relax, and have fun. I can guarantee you that any children out there who turn to Satanism aren't influenced by Halloween.
I've been thinking about this too - being so damned dependent on glasses. I don't know about the rest of you folks, but I can't wear contacts and work on a computer (I know, I know, we blink less while staring at the monitor) - so I've been looking for alternatives.
This one seems promising, though there's only 4 years of clinical testing (in Canada, at least). Basically, it is a contact lens, surgically implanted into your eye, made of a pig collagen tissue. It's completely reversible, so you should be safe from most goof-ups. And it's out-patient.
BUT - big caveat here, I don't know too much about this procedure, yet. Anyone else hear of it?
I'm using Linux, and am a developer (been a geek years, recent Unix convert), and despite that, still had a bitch of a time migrating to Linux. Maybe it was the paucity of driver support (lack of adequate network printing & sound support kept me back).
Actually, I do this. A 64 MB compact flash memory key is enough to hold all my necessary data - e-mails(small attachments), bookmarks, data, and media.
It's worked for me - laptop, work, home PC, remote PC.
I just make sure not to store anything elsewhere, and encrypt it on the key.
Or rather... Down The Hatch!
Eggs-actly my sentiment.
And it's popular here, 'cause it lets guys pick up lots of chicks... (Or should that have been "...'meat' lots of chicks"?)
Incorrigible punster. Do not incorrige.

We should be so lucky for Eps. VII-IX to be that good.

But, I'm still a believer. OSS is the way to go.
