Yes but the billion comes with plenty o'strings. CBC french version gets a significant chunk and it does a better job with what they have over the english side.
BBC has money from TV licence fee.. CBC has scraps from the CDN government. BBC programs change it up regularly and run on odd seasons that usually consist of many mini-series like Auf Weidersen (totally awsome). BBC has multiple channels that are available to everyone since well before cable and satellite and no commercials unless they are self promotion. CBC has crap. Nevermind BBC Radio.. Radio 1 defines pop culture in the UK, or so it seems.
You can enjoy anything with no commercials in it... I live with a Brit.. she can't stand North American tv commercials...and to be honest I constantly wonder why we pay so much for cable that consists of 60% or more commercials.
I know it would probably cause an accident.. locking the wheels and all... but what about his parking brake? I know you can apply them slowly, but at 120mph I suppose all you can do is hold on. Any/. folks try it? Fastest I hit my parking brake is 60mph on a snow covered road.
I have enjoyed gaming on my albook and beating the crap out of people on Battlenet with it. I hate the LCD though, the game is so much nicer if I plug in the monitor and go that way.
How about a site that publishes MAC addresses of stolen laptops? Hmmm? Include 802.11 MAC as well and those centrino chips become useful;) Migh tbe a nice feature on/.
They cater to 14 yr old girls.. and they lose the men. Go figure. Between the 5 min of real programming mixed in with 25 min of commercials its hard to pay attention to a tv program.. but Warcraft III can entertain me for hours. I didn't notice the commercials so much until I spent some time in England though... even with absolute crap on I found myself stuck to the commercial-less BBC 1.
Get ready for more tits and ass on the tv.. try to get us guys back!!! Over-reacting to Janet's boob isn't helping.
But you could alter the open source to protect your documents in a way you wish. As it is they all are at the mercy of a $500 per copy upgrade that _may_ fix the problem and likely open up another security hole.
Hehehe.. can't help but laugh at these high ups that put trust in MS products only to find it bite them in the arse. Not saying that is a bad thing. For once (well twice so far) MS products are coming in real handy. I wonder how loud the 'doh' was coming from the AG's office?
To me this makes sense.. they found a way to use the current infastructure with new technology. Is this not what hydrogen fueled vehicles were waiting for? It also helps that they have something the size of a tank and the funding of the Bush fueled military to develop it.
I always thought that if you could convince the military of real savings you will get your new technology developed.. but saying your tanks can fight longer, requiring less resources, with relatively slight modifications probably is the key selling point here.
If I am not mistaken, the only thing that slowed the march in Iraq was the fuel chain....
Are we (Canadians) already compensating artists with the extra fees? That is what the fee is for. I can download guilt free... if there was anything left that I wanted to download.
Sure the exchange rate might give Canadians a bit of a deal but the extra 'fees' on blank media we pay makes it so we pay twice or three times for the music. Recently there have been $25 fees added to ipods and the ilk but downloading was also decided to be legal in Canada but uploading is not. CD-R's went up in price a couple times as well with the money going to the recording industry. Who would be silly enough to pay to download in Canada when the Canadian RIAA already has us paying since everyone already downloads for free according to them.
The p900 is close but it needs a 40GB HD and WiFi.. its very close though. It's enough for me actually. Just have to get data transfer rates reduced for cell phones or stick 802.11 on those buggers.
How can you kill something that has already been so successful? There are enough iPod's out there to more than pay for the development and turn into a nice little profit for apple.. now its all icing.
Microsoft seems to have developed the generation 2 ipod in terms of features and uses. I would expect Apple already has a generation 3 in development... but i wonder. How long until cell phone companies finally get the hint from RIM's success and build a proper all-in-one? One would think Sony-Ericcson could do that.
I love it... 9 million to lawyers, -1.6 to report to it's investors and they are no where. If they win I imagine they stand to make 10x whatever they pay for lawyers but how much do they have to put out before it is not longer worth the risk?
Have you heard the G5? They take full advantage of their design and cool using the dynamics of the case, very little fan is used. Computers are no different than a 100W light bulb, granted that is a lot of light bulbs.
I wonder of energy efficient a G5 is to a similar powered machine?
I think MS might be worried here. Apple has product placement now and it has the cool factor. MS will have a hard time breaking into the market for sure now. Their stance on DRM makes their AAC criticism look foolish. Do they not have a public relations office?
If Apple hits the 10 million mark by Christmas I will be impressed, MS will be scared, and the RIAA might start to be quiet.. maybe.
With a monkey for a president..? a long long long time.
Any government with the balls to go to war for one reason than 'change' that reason when their 'evidence' in is questionable and be accepted - can get away with anything. Clinton got a BJ and Bush lies to Congress and the American people.. who gets treated worse?
haha how long? Until they lose faith and start a civil war!
But ya CBC has commercials, which I think it silly. I wonder what the BBC budget is? Looks like over 2.5 billion pounds (6 billion CDN). BBC annual report is interesting.

Postgresql would be nice. That was being looked in to.

The investors must be getting worried.

Time to educate people! Must spread the word, Mozilla.org is worth checking out.
this could be the only way to get our BBC fix... Hopefully they will allow some sort of free subscription or something.
