Oops. Was reading the story in your post over a couple of times and forgot that you said that the story's a classic. So unless you're terribly conceited I can assume you didn't write the story.
Oh, and it's a great story. It does very well in showing exactly what's wrong with religion. Do not make the mistake of assuming that it applies to all religion.

Cut the bullshit. You said yourself it was "Religion in a Nutshell". The ten rules and other things in your writing make it pretty clear that you're talking about Christianity specifically.
Now did you write this yourself or copy it down from somewhere? Not that it's entirely relevent, but I want to know if this is your opinion, or you just thought it was clever so you posted it here.
Just nitpicking here. Where do you get your information? How do you know? While this is a site that strongly supports alternatives to Windows, I'm willing to bet that many of its readers (possibly even a majority) use win xx as their primary OS (if they even use more than one OS).
"All those that support Windows gaming will get a reward. It will be more Windows games. My reward for supporting Linux games is that there will be many ohter Linux games to purchase." How can you both get different rewards? This doesn't make any sense to me.
"Most of the slashdot readership WANTS more linux ports of games."
Once again, where do you get your information? How many Slashdot users are there? How many posts do articles on Windows only games generally receive? How many of those posts say "I want a port of this." I have no idea how you can take 5 or so posts and their upward moderation to mean that the majority of slashdot users want more linux ports.
"Compare to renaming a script information.txt.vbs (hide file extensions on by default, user sees only 'information.txt'... )"
What's even worse is that some files (.shs.lnk) have extentions that hide themselves even if you have extentions turned on. This is what that Life Stages virus used. So if you have information.txt.shs you can only see the txt even if you can see all other extentions. Pretty stupid imho.
"This left him and the occupants of his wagon susceptible to sneak attacks from Indians and the subsequent scalpings that would result." "Defending against bandits is no longer the priority of Shotgun however"
So was the original shotgun position to fight off indians or bandits? Or just indian bandits?
Tsk tsk... Bit sloppy of them I'd say. Otherwise, good page. Now I can direct people here when they try to steal shotgun from me.
So you're saying that pretty much everyone in North America is a mass murderer and you're one of the only ones admitting to it?
So you really believe that by buying that coffee machine you're intentionally killing a child. And you buy the coffee machine anyway? That's awfully nice of you. Too bad your enlightened perspective didn't go to someone with morals.
Can you just as easily pull out a gun and shoot someone in order to take their money? You seem to be stating that there's no moral difference.
One last thing. How often do you think about this besides when you're in Starbucks philosophizing or posting to Slashdot?
You know, I really don't see anything wrong with that. All they're trying to do is achieve their goals through whatever means they can, and they're sticking to their values.
The fault, in my opinion, lies with the judicial system, for not being just.
On a side note, I don't really understand why the organization is _M_ADD. Do mothers have some sort of special insight into drinking and driving. It's seems as strange as Artists Against Racism.
Excuse me? What right do you have to stop someone from operating a perfectly legitimite business?
Or are you just talking about how it could theoretically be done?
In that case: I'm sure that the credit card firms would love to give up their profits on what could very well be the most profitable enterprise on the net.
I'm sorry, but your post makes absolutely no sense to me.
Heh... A friend of mine mixed up the head grand theft auto cop in "Gone in 60 Seconds" and Samuel L. Jackson.
And remember Samuel L. Jackson in Lethal Weapon?:)
sheesh.

I think you've got this backwards. PG movies aren't designed for kids, Kids' movies are designed to be PG. If someone's making a movie for adults, they wouldn't care much about what rating it's going to get. The ratings that we're talking about here don't tell you who the movie is for, they tell you about the "recommended age level" of the content.
A really good example of this is Woody Allen's "Manhattan Murder Mystery" (1993). This movie is aimed at adults, but is rated PG. Will kids enjoy this movie? It's very doubtful. Can they see it (according to the MPAA of course)? Sure... But they wouldn't want to. http://us.imdb.com/Title?0107507

Normally you need violence, nudity, and the f word to get good plot depth? That's news to me.
I don't see why you think a movie can't be funny or scary while maintaining a PG rating either. You can create fear without excessive violence. You can also create humour without the use of expletives.
Maybe I'm misunderstanding you and you're saying PG movies are inteded for kids and therefore aren't as develloped.

"that's why we watch the genre film, not for the overall story (which everyone knows), but for the details."
That's why I thought Titan AE could have been a lot better, it lacked a lot of details. It seemed like the whole movie was those "broad strokes" filled in with a little eye-candy and bad music.
spoiler! There was only 1 plot twist which I didn't see coming: The captain (ok, I forget his name) turning out to be a bad guy. Everything else was pretty easy to guess.
Watch/read 2001. Read the Hitch Hiker's Guide to the Galaxy (um... maybe not for scientific proof). AFAIK you can survive in space for a _very_ limited time (something like half a minute). Oh, and they didn't take a big breath, they exhaled. Otherwise the pressure difference would have teared them apart (I think).
I was pretty sure that the Drej came after the human race because of the Titan. The little intro thingie said that the Titan was the most advanced ship, blah blah blah and because they built it, the Drej decided to eradicate them.
Maybe I didn't hear it correctly in the theatre, but that's what I remember. I don't think I'll see it again any time soon though; anyone want to back me up?
Ever played paintball? You're in real life, your shooting your friend, but they're not real bullets. This is at least as real (if not more so) than fragging your friend in Quake.
Not being a Quaker I might not have any idea, but don't you have to download other people's skins in order to see them yourself? Or is that just how Half-Life works?

What about God coming down to you and saying, "Hey there AC. Believe."?
Flawed reasoning?
So you said it yourself: "He is therefore both omnipotent and not."
This contradicts your previous statement.

Holding something as an opinion means believing in something which necessitates thinking of something else as untrue.

Here's the part where you can pay your bills.

The humans built the Titan, which brought the Drej down on them to destroy their planet.
"Hey, these guys just made a ship that can create a new planet. Let's blow their planet up." Isn't that kind of asking for it?
You'd think the aliens would've come down on them as soon as (or before) they discovered interstellar travel.
I thought the plot was really weak in this film.
And come on, who takes an explosion (that's meant to kill 2 people) in the stomach and sleeps it off?
Make the movie half an hour longer, tell us a hell of a lot more about the drifter colonies and such. ok... I'm done venting.
Reminds me of Queen in Highlander.
