MS fun to pick on I suppose.. Though all this article says to me is "MS has competetitors. MS competes with them." Trying to undermine the competition is not quite an uncommon practice I dont think. Even this particular tactic, from what we know only through the media, is comparitavely everyday practice- even if it didnt make most of the buieness 101 textbooks.

  3. Wow, we all need one of these on The Timex Speedpass Watch · · Score: 1
    The website boasts
Speedpass is easier than using a credit card. No more waiting for authorization and then signing receipts. No more searching for cash and waiting for change.
Think about this.. Have we really become this soft? When will "simply waving your speedpass" be portrayed as a big hassle?

Perhaps we need to take what nature gives us. Often a lot of satisfaction comes from some of the things we often view as negative. Dark very often helps us appreciate light. I think trying to eliminate every possible negativity, every inconvenience, discomfort, and so on only contributes towards the modern trend of taking more and more simple things for granted, especially good health.

  5. One thing you should know... on Fighting The Spammers Down Under · · Score: 1

Is the perspective from the most targeted customer: Someone very new to the Internet, generally. Ive seen them before and how they use it. Basically, there seems to be quite a pattern. That is, they follow the trail that is usually left by spammers who post the bait to who it is intended for. So the point is, "good" spammers leave a trail that follows the bait (spam) that reels them right in... Think of a porn advertiement. At firest its "Come see our site" followed by "horney girls will please you". Then followed by "Take a tour" then "see more by joinging our site". By now, the new user is primed and ready. Of course when this person reached the next stage, "Enter your credit card number", this "newbie" Internet user has met the goals of the spammer. So, I think it is important to note the effectivness here and set aside the bias that one who is not an effective spam target is likely to have.

God damn it... There is so much damn bitching about Microsoft on here. You sound like a bunch of little babies, really. Why don't you pay attention to whatever it is you enjoy doing and ignore what they are doing. If your not going to ignore it, then do something about it besides piss and moan.. Jeez.

  8. Web Advertising as new ./ category on Salon Goes For Annoying Jump-Through Ads · · Score: 1

A large part which acts on why some things in society are the way they are is due to not standing up for what you believe in- just let things happen to you. There's a lot more to advertising than whats apparent on the surface. We are molded by it much more than most of us know I think. Though we ordinarily don't think so because it was what we were born into and therefore see it as "normal".
