I just pulled mine out and shared it with my son who is learning the whole retro gaming scene. Challenged him to take it apart and add keyboard and storage with instructions on the internet.
Just replaced my V10 last month because of boot loop issue. Verizon records showed that it was 4 days out of warranty. Luckily, the tech was able to override and get a replacement, but if it happens again...
It is documented. When this whole windows 10 is spyware thing started, I started searching. The telemetry is exactly that. how many times an application is run. For how long? did it exit clean or with errors? etc... Microsoft has been giving speeches @ Dev conferences for a while now shopping this new feature set. Not a secret.
it it a service called "Application Insights"

Nothing secret, an apparently an advertised service. Another way to make money for Microsoft, not spyware for nefarious purposes.
This. Especially for children's titles. I have 2 viewing options available for my kids, Plex and the DVD changer in the minivan. When buying titles, I Torrent for Plex and the un-opened disc goes onto the shelf. If it is a frequent re-watcher, My oldest son burns a DVD for the Van with windows movie maker so that it just plays instead of having to navigate the menus while driving. (who ever thought that would be safe?)

Hamachi is a very easy to use and extreemly hard to block VPN that looks to your system as if it was another network device. these days I leave my laptop at home and access all of my daily needed data + VNC as if it was sitting right next to me
And believe me it is a pain in the a$$. Our company did the verification for the code in the microprocessor that controls the locks to the bathroom door on a 777, if the crapper tank is full then the door locks to make sure there isn't an overflow and thus frozen turd/urine meteors that fall from the sky.
Every byte of the code MUST be excercised including all error conditions.
I've been playing SWG since launch day, and I was also invited into the JTL beta. This is the first MMORPG that I've ever played, and I'm still having a ton of fun. I'm a casual player which means that I've just started to make some deep scratches in the amount of content availible in the game. Power gamers seem to get tired of the game after a while, but I'm sure that these are the same people who will move on to WOW or EQII when they get the chance, but for me I'm happy to vacation in the Star Wars Universe for a couple of hours a night, two or three time a week.
I have an AMD 1900+ system which ran @ 47C with the stock fan, when the bering started to go and RPMs started to fall off, the temp went up... @ 57C the machine would shut down, reliably, I have a decent ASUS MB so it might be that AUUS C.O.P. stuff kicking in, but it seems that 55C would be a happy upper end as far as my MB is concerned,

This. MIcrosoft was slapped on the wrist for attempting to extend J++ and still call it JAVA. Microsoft went dark for about 2 years and out popped .net
sounds like google + circles
+1 internet cookies for you sir!
ah, so you have read Michal Chriton's PREY book too?

I used to run an ISP with floppy disk based ForayPPP(dos) modem servers. There are no record retention laws except for those relating to taxes.
