  1. Re:Linux documentation bred the Linux users of tod on Making Linux Look Harder Than It Is · · Score: 1

I entirely agree. I am fairly new to the Linux scene and I've found the biggest barrier to learning anything is the documentation. Especially man pages. Is there something wrong with the idea of giving a few examples of usage?

When confused about a manpage I usually end up searching the web. Places like Linuxnewbie.org are a good start, the how-tos are often very helpful. But this kind of information should be included with the system, IMHO.

Here in Alberta, APEGGA, controls the use of name 'engineer' and actually threatened to take M$ to court over it. It worked.

You aren't allowed to call yourself a "Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer", only an MCSE:

Microsoft Corp. will advise Canadian holders of its MCSE certification not to call themselves engineers or use the full title Microsoft Certified System Engineers, news releases announced earlier this month.

    Ctrl+Tab and Ctrl-Shift-Tab don't work under Windows 2000/NT apparently. :(

On a positive note, gestures finally installs and works for me now. :)

  4. Re:BeOS. on Pocket PC 2002: Sweaty Palms? · · Score: 2, Insightful

They should begin to implement it because they are starting to lose major ground to Pocket PCs. The iPaq is the beating palm in sales. (Not un units... yet.)

The big advantage of Pocket PCs over Palms offerings is multimedia, an area where Be excelled. Palm will get left behind if they don't come up with something, and fast.
