i had this happen to me about three weeks ago, and i was wondering how often it happens to others. weird thing is, my blog isn't a heavily traveled site and it was posted in an archived entry that was over a year old. it had an apology with it, saying something like "remove this if it's unwanted".
scary thing is, i have my blog set up to txt message my phone whenever i get a comment. i read last week that some sites are getting up to 40 spam comments in one burst...i don't think that'd be very fun if i was with a client.
let's just hope this'll have a positive effect on the way our blockbuster-loving country views anime. that is, unless, we see guinness, lexus, etc. advertisements written in...
most true web designers knew this'd happen when all those 3rd tier, low-quality designers jumped on the webdesign bandwagon to make some money. people who've had no interest in design their whole lives. the kind of people that do it just for the money...screw technology, screw true design, screw everything.
seeing piss-poor design makes me angry because of all the time i put into designing sites that are all-browser-compatible...charging far less than the half-ass "designers" that don't even know what opera is.

if we don't follow iceland's lead (which i'm sure we won't) we'll probably be asking them for help in about twenty-five years. that or we'll wage a full-scale war on them for whatever excuse we can find or make up (icelandic copyright infringement mafia? not enough dunkin' donuts? um, them being smarter than us?)
a friend of mine recently moved to iceland to go to school and become a chef. it's a big deal over there, i guess. maybe i should go join him.
"smarterchild" has actually been on my buddy list for a while now. it's their default AIM bot to showcase their technology. it's actually useful for some things, like movie showtimes (what i use it for...easiest way i've found to find them out).
but now that they're targeting children...maybe camel and marlboro have found a new way in.

Thank you. I was nearing the end of these posts wondering why no one had mentioned what a piece of crap that article was, and getting ready to write something myself.
Reading that article was a complete waste of time. (Of course, sitting here complaining about it is equally as wasteful.)

You can't move to a deserted south pacific island. Microsoft already bought them all.

it's sad these people call themselves designers.
