Because first review was badly flawed. read the reader's comments on the first review, you will see why Anandtech come aout with his review. The configurations were wrong, compiler settings were wrong, and the chosen synthetic benchmarks were just trash. i am sure if they make the second test with the Athlon 64 againg, they will have similar results with opteron test..
jsp is a bad idea, but Java is not

if someone wants to produce a high performance web site in Java, jsp is a bad choice. use Velocity - pure java objects - a decent DB abstraction mechanism (Hibernate, iBatis). .
Plus, i used php, ok, it is easy to use and can be preferred small to medium size web sites. but call me biased, it is nowhere near the elegance of java.
In our current project we use Java. This is a big project with possible thousands of server, tens of thousands client installation. Platform portability was not our main concern, but it is a bonus. open source tools are very good in java. there are aproximately 20-30 open source libraries we are using, but not the GPL ones. Apache, BSD types mainly. Some are:
Tomcat
Hibernate and related libraries
Spring
Lucene
Webwork
Hessian
Apache commons
Dom4j
Log4j
Velocity
some codehaus apps.
i prefer java anywhere. because it is strong, has many open source libraries and easier to use.
AMD Opteron Processor Models 146/246/846 HE series produces only 50Waats and EE series produces 35 watts. this means even dual chips may produce less heat than a Intel Presscot P4. HE and EE series will be unveiled this year.
You can throw your old Athlon Thunderbird's, Becuase it takes only 2 minutes to make scramble egg by using prescott.

Orkut Buyukkokten is a Turkish name-surname.
Orkut is actually an ancient name probably thousand year ago it was used.
Buyukkokten literally means "Coming from big root" or "Has big roots"
Please do not make fun of names.
He deserves to be known as the father of robotics and cybernetics. Ebul-iz smail bin ar-Razzaz el-Cezeri lived in the 13.cc and dedicated his life to build automats. Link down is turkish but you can see a picture of his man-like robot design there. http://www.teknoturk.org/docking/yazilar/t t000052- yazi.htm
This review is one of the worst review i have ever seen. i really didnt understand why slashdot has put that anyway (maybe the guy is a friend of slashdot guys or stg?).
only two stupid game releated tests for Gods sake. And coclusion "yeah great CPU get it!". Where is the same priced competitors? Where are the other tests?
it is giving the impression that as if only the cpu replacement is a good idea but you have to change whole system (main board, CPU + memory), why not getting a 1 GHz PIII then? it is cheaper at least. and of course same performance can be gained with a 30-40$ less AMD processor anyway.
Slash dot is very good at choosing the worst revievs. (like Tom's hardware's review for Opteron.)
Slash dot has made mistakes
1- Linking to the one of the most horrible designed web site ever (mozillaquest)
2- Not ignoring that site, although many times it was explained nicely from Mozilla workers why this site cant be the source for Mozilla project, and yet there is real info in mozillazine.org
3- Sadly, by linking to the Bugzilla directly. Today was an important day because 0.9.4 was ready to go. Now who knows when bugzilla will work again. deliberately bombing one of the gratest open source project ever.
i am likely to believe slashdot likes magazine conspiracy rather than reality.
PS: For God's sake who will listen Wrangler??
