    I don't get it...how is grabbing 802.11b packets any harder than grabbing packets off the wire?

    One way or another, your packets are running on a wire, right? So this changes nothing. It's still a matter of using encryption and safe network practices.

    Earthlink blocks 25, but only on their dialup service. If you think dialup is the 'real internet', then, yeah, that suxors ass.

    I've been with them since 94 or so, and have never had a problem. I run a FreeBSD web/mail server on my eln dsl line, and they have yet to gripe. Granted, if they ever decided to block 25 outgoing or (gasp!), 80 incoming on their dsl network, I'd drop them in a second.

    See here for some good reasons. No, I don't dig zeldman, either, but it's some pretty sound advice. As soon as everyone can come to a reasonable agreement on what an em is, I'm all over that bad boy.

    It's not my fault that IE for windows doesn't zoom text correctly. IE for the Mac zooms text no matter what it's units are.

    I think of claris homepage, which makes me think of the good old days of tags and animated rainbow horizontal rules.

    Which brings up a reasonable point: most people aren't going to do a damned thing about usability unless their silly authoring tools support it. If you take away the intimacy with your site's workings that hand coding brings, people think a lot less about what it is they're building, and how it should work. When you grab the table tool and create a jazzy layout in a few clicks, you distance yourself from the logical process of building a page. H1 just means bigger font, right?

    Dreamweaver and such should enforce good practices, but they don't.

    • fire yourself towards this black hole. try to achieve a velocity somewhere around 1.46e+07c. we can't wait all day for your answer, you know
    • as you approach the singularity, note any aromas. take notes. hurl the notes back toward earth at near infiinite velocity so they don't just get sucked in

    What i want to know is how the hell your theoretical planet would end up living near enough to a black hole to orbit it. Plantets aren't just hanging around looking for something to orbit around, you know.

    It's a scale issue. Planets don't orbit around black holes, galaxies do.

    they were kinda asking for that, but the other black hole is cooler. I wouldn't want to sit and throw things into mr. goatse man's black hole, and I don't think Hawking is doing much research in that particular area.

    First response wasn't flamebait. I'm merely pointing out that the effa bee eye could insert this into systems with relative ease and stealth. XP Service Pack 1, anyone?. How many users are going to notice if cisvrc.exe or any of the other "mysterious" task manager entries is suddenly using 25k more ram?

    We should be fighting against those who would use this software, not the software itself.
