The big question is WHAT is pop music, The line on what defines it is pretty wide now a days.

  2. I would just be happy if FB would stop asking every 3rd article if i want to be a friend with zuckerburg or a friends, friends, friends 3rd cousin. Meaningful interactions would give me the ability to turn all the crap I dont want to look at.

  4. public on Dropbox Files Confidentially For IPO (bloomberg.com) · · Score: 2

SO here is how this plays out. Go public and a bunch of people become billionaires. They run the company for a few years but have no skills and the company goes bust. A companies buys them out closing the Dropbox accounts, Takes ownership of all your files and provides you no access. They then sells off your data to the highest bidder. Rinse and repeat....

  7. data center on Nvidia Wants To Prohibit Consumer GPU Use In Datacenters (theregister.co.uk) · · Score: 2, Insightful

How is data center defined? I dont have a data center, I have a lab! I dont have a data center, I have a computer room. I dont have a data center I have a mind your own dam business room. Even if in a license I find it hard to see where they can stop the use of a product that has been purchased.

  8. Backup your files, factory reset your phone basic phone login, Restore on the other side. For your laptop a second drive with minimal image on it if they want to search.

  9. Seems like more of a make money for the lawyer case than anything else. Doubt the timeline will come into play, better to wait for fixes and provide info early. The chips work as designed, the fact the design is flawed is more software than hardware and since there is a patch to fix the issue can see there is much of financial burden. About the only loss might be CPU performance but for most that may not be a factor.

  10. bugs bugs get the raid on Which Programming Languages Are Most Prone to Bugs? (i-programmer.info) · · Score: 0

  15. The move back to the US is multiple items, First is poor quality help in India, either skill set or language. Skill set is questionable and understanding them is getting more and more difficult. For complex technical issues you need to be able to communicate. Many of those with the skills and language skills have moved to the US and are working onshore. Security implications of using non employees to support equipment. As employee security is tightened for onshore you need to do the same for offshore. Kinda of hard to get a FBI check on someone from offshore. Prices of offshore are going up and not as cost effective as they once where. Hassle of hiring and managing offshore. We have interviewed people via phone and hired them and the person who shows up isn't the person we interviewed. We now force onsite or video interviews. There are a number of "interview" company's that do nothing but interview for a job. Either take the interview or set with you and feed answers. We have googled an answer to a question and then ask the question and listened as the person being interviewed reads the answer word for words back to us. Trumps push to move jobs back to the US is also helping.

  20. need smarts in the smartwatch on People Still Aren't Buying Smartwatches -- and It's Only Going To Get Worse (businessinsider.com) · · Score: 1

Received a nice smart watch for Christmas, Cant say I had to have it, It was a nice gift and I had been looking at getting one myself if Santa had not brought me one. I knew going in that they are not "magical watches to solve all my issue. There is still no KILLER app that makes a smart watch a must have item. It can tell time, so that's nice, My last stupid watch died and had gone for a while without a watch so having time on my arm will be nice again. The big advantage I see is being able to quickly see txt message and answer or most likely reject a phone call from my arm. NO reaching into my pocket to see who calling/txting me. less meeting interruptions. We shall see what else I can make it do.
