  1. Of Course They Don't on Maybe Video Games Don't Make Kids Kill · · Score: 1
If games caused people to behave oddly then more people would be jumping around on that building in New York that looks like the Qbert game board. And more people would be running around trying to eat ghosts and power pellets. Next they'll be saying the pokemons are the devils creation sent here to ring in Armageddon.

If parent would quit using games as a baby sitter then people might not think this of games. TV violence is a lot worse than video games for one reason. You actually see real people getting killed, hit, punched, shot. Oh and I think there has been an increase in this kids killing their peers incedents because of mass media coverage bringing it to all the kids in America. If someone was on the edge that would push them over thinking that someone will remember what they do in the same way. I didn't even watch one second of the Colombine shooting coverage. I just saw still pictures. My kids don't need to see that.

Just another example of people trying to get over on the American Legal System.
And as far as losing $25k, He must have been using a pretty high stakes place because most online casinos that I have seen don't let you bet like 1000 at a time or something. Anyway stupidity is always painful whether it's to the self or the pocketbook.

Why shouldn't Redhat have Netscape and Lynx default to their page. Linux Mandrake already does that, or at least mine does.

  7. $$$'s are driving our courts on United Parcel Service Sued for Insurance Fraud · · Score: 3

Seems like another group of people trying to make money off of the American legal system. Like an earlier post said if it gets there broke they will replace it. No one said the customer had to buy the insurance on the package. I don't think they push you into buying the insurance, so what if it is used off shore, isn't that legal? If it wasn't I don't think that they would have done it. This will probably fly so that others can make money in the future. I'm going to see Hostess because Twinkies(tm) made me fat. 12. Netscape - AOL on Has AOL Ruined Netscape? · · Score: 1
Well IMO, Netscape was already headed down because of the hurting that Microsofts IE put on them. For a company that shipped other things besides browsers they sure didn't like someone taking market share from their browser. So how did they respond to this, they put out a browser that was and well is not stable, bug ridden, crashy (if that's a word) I have used Netscape from the 1st day I got on the Internet, I will probably continue to use them, but I have looked elsewhere and found better products from other companies.

I know AOL probably just wanted to brand name of Netscape because they are probably as tired of Microsoft as anyone else. So, with that in mind they merged with another Microsoft hater, Sun. And all the employees that were used to putting out good quality stuff were just being shuffled around like paper in a trashcan. I don't blame them for leaving.

I hope that AOL can pull this act together, and start shipping AOL disks with Netscape 5.0 as the browser as soon as it comes out. If they don't then we will know that they secretly bought out Netscape to crush its product and name and was paid to do it by Microsoft? Hmmm..

I like the newest interface they have put on it. It is a little buggy but hey it's not done yet. It finally loads Slashdot though and holds the login, so that for me is a bonus. It's runs pretty fast on the 60 Mhz Pentium Linux machine that I have right now. Can't wait til it's finished. That will be a grand day for the Internet in general and finally put my faith back in Netscape.
