Yeah, and I just spend all this bandwidth downloading the DVD screener, and now I'm going to have to download another copy all over again to get rid of that pesky 'Property of New Line Cinema' message!
Seriously though, I probably will buy the DVD set. I *really* enjoyed the Fellowship DVD set, the deleted scenes were great. I wouldn't ever show anyone the cut up edition after seeing the extended one. I am a Tolkien fanatic and the more I can see put back in that was missing at first the better:)
I am just not sure about the price, I won the Fellowship DVD set in a work Christmas Party.. Probably costs a lot more than I am willing to fork out.
Aren't there irc channels that trade entire DVD disk images yet?:)
The power company analogy sums it up perfectly... but what if you run an extension cord down to a shed.. what if the shed is being rented by someone else who is renting the main building from the owner, and pays the bills...
The answer is the electric company doesnt care because they provide x peices of service for y dollars.
So, just as we are billed per kilowatt hour, should we be charged per MB/month? At least they [ISPs] would have to get off our backs..:)
I can see it now though, people would get volume discounts for high bandwidth allotments and wire up their whole neighborhood. Arg.
Not really any answer. I think I'll just stick with "They can't detect NAT, Yeah Right, I'll just run my other cpu's through proxies, they'll never be able to tell.":) sFlow, smeshFlow
Everyone seems to have forgotten about the oh so funny Kids in the Hall movie. FOR SHAME!
Get your finger outta my face don! Get your finger outta my face don!
These articles just keep coming, talking about how even though we are substituting a pay service with a free one the companies who own the pay service keep making the same profits.. I just don't really buy it. I haven't bought a CD in about 5 years, save 1 or 2 rare cds that I couldn't find mp3s of, even in my well connected IRC world. If I fast forward commercials on tivo and recognize them, the recognition only takes place because I've seen the commercials before. For me, I'll bet this study would fail because I have no TV at all, I just watch divx episodes of Sealab all day.
It's all a big beautiful rebellion against market-shaped consciousness and pay-per-living.
The more we seperate the means of our survival from our lifestyle, the more we do not understand how the work we do fuels the means for our lifestyle.
Guess we're boned.

Slartibartfast made the fjords, he won awards for it in the book.
Nobody mentions how great any of Herbert's other works are, so I will.
Destination: Void rules, as does the rest of that series, The Jesus Incident, the Lazarus Effect and the Ascension Factor. Kickass. They don't compete for my affection with the Dune series but they certainly are good. The Santaroga Barrier: cool. Man of Two Worlds, very entertaining, great read. Soul Catcher, good. The Book of Frank Herbert - lot's of cool novellas, good stuff, a more pulpy-feeling side of Herbert, interesting read.
Destination: Void should be required reading in any SciFi class. Such a cool book.
You don't need to worry about her exposing time travel to the 20th century, they took her back with them to the future, remember? She took up an assignment on some science vessel.

Well, he was plotting with Sauron, but his ultimate plan was to get the one ring for himself, unbeknownst to Sauron, as is evidenced by the fight between the Orcs of the White Hand and the Uruk Hai in the two towers.
Anyone else notice that this release's tag now
automatically works as a submit button when it is inside a
block? What is with that? I am programming a
bunch of php software and I love using to attach javascript
onClick event handlers to, and this really screws up a bunch of my forms.
I know this is not standard, no previous version of mozilla or netscape,
and even IE has this functionality.
Anyone know where they got this idea? Anyone know a way to turn it off?
Are they planning on keeping this awful behavoir? This sucks, I am going
back to 0.9.3 and hoping IE never follows suit.

There should be a moderation selection called 'Not Funny'.. :)

I am under the impression that these 'masses' are the same ones who give moderation points :P
