I've been a loyal electronics consumer since I was about 14, but fuck, can't they get their shit together? Lately, my new Sony products have ALL been falling apart. My new Sony DVD drive no longer wants to read ANY of my DVDs and lets me know that by hanging my system. Just a few weeks before that, another one of my USB Microvault drives died a most horrible painless death. All my data was lost for no reason, irrecoverable; even with THEIR support tools, got fucked. Creative did the same bullshit to me with their drivers. I bought a new Live-series sound card, the applications worked great with Windows 2000, but when I moved to WinXP, nope, sorry, *crash*. I no longer purchase Creative products and also go out of my way to spend a few bucks more to ensure I don't buy Creative products. I only need one good reason not to continue buying your product, whether its bad software or bad hardware. *hint, hint* Sony...

Texas is a prime state of football. If you don't play football, you're nothing. In fact, they cut our budgets for spending on art, music, literature, engineering AND science! Why? Just to build another fucking stadium for the football "heroes" who don't have 2 brain cells to rub together. And almost every high school football player I know uses the excuse, "No Pass, No Play." That's bullshit. That "rule" has been abused to the point of ridicule and means precisely nothing if you're fast on your feet and can catch an inflated wad of invertely-sewn, swine epidermals. I know I'm just asking for the "flamebait" award with this response, but I can't stand here and not say anything about this. Its true, the US is growing up to be stupid. I agree totally with you on this. With the "facts and figures" reports being posted recently, the IT market is NOT where you want to be if you're looking for a job, meaning, if you have a job, you're one of the lucky people! The spouse, in this case, is up against a financial wall. Searching for a job is not something that's possible since work occupies more than 50% of the week. Granted a person sleeps a solid 8 hours a night, we all need to do the Triple-S maneuver in the morning! So with 22 hours in the week left to shit, shower, and shave, not to mention eat, drink, and sneeze, that's where it becomes just plain stupid. This reflects only 3 hours and 8 minutes of time left unallocated per day. Wait, there's drive-time to work and home, you'd better live close then, because you'll have to haul ass otherwise. Let's not forget traffic, spilled coffee, and damn it - the cat peed on your shoes. Shit happens and you can't possibly treat your employees like bots. I was offered a job with EA as a Graphics Artist. Due to the circumstances of this article, I refuse to purchase any additional EA games. My advice to the EA Spouse is to quit while he/she is ahead and use that time to find a better job. I took a slightly lower-paying job to pay the bills - why? Because it was closer to home, cost me less in gas, has better benefits, is a real, no-shit full-time job (screw contract labor!), and the people are really good here. If my boss happens to be reading this, I'm really NOT brown-nosing, its the truth.

Best Buy, an established company is also a competitor of rival companies such as CompUSA, Fry's Electronics, and others. Best Buy was geared towards the middle-class consumer until just a few years ago when problems with advertising and fraud emerged. During this time, rival companies were able to scoop up the financial losses of Best Buy and offer customers a fresh new shopping experience with newly designed stores, features, and helpful service.

I live, in probably one of the most expensive cities in the United States where buying a typical run-of-the-mill CD player will cost you $40 (US) versus one from Wal-Mart at $7 (US). In the past year, I've noticed a steady increase in the cost of goods and services from Best Buy, degrading stores, sell-outs to local tech services, and other insecurities ranging from credit card fraud, legal craftsmanships (regarding the Rewards Zone topic), and overall disatisfaction.

For instance, my most recent trip to Best Buy was for basic networking hardware; wall-plates, brackets, and some of those little plastic inserts to cover the other unused holes on the plates. The cost of one wall-plate was an astonishing $9.99 and it wasn't even WHITE! Disgusted at this, I left the store in a furious rage because of what Best Buy had become and the lack of help I was offered in locating the hardware in the first place. I ventured forth to Home Depot where I purchased everything I needed for a mere $8.19. Because of the low price, I was hastly encouraged to indulge in the additional expense of $14.06 for a fifty-foot spool of RG6/u coaxial cable. While standing among the spools of cable, I realized that despite CompUSA not having coaxial cable, they were indeed cheaper than Best Buy and that my decision to drive out of my way to Home Depot, actually saved me money in the long run. My question is, due to the recent explosive growth of electronic demand, is Best Buy raping us for all they can get?
