    I sure hope the pending SDK has support for the latest version of Java. I have yet to get the latest version of Cryptix OpenPGP to work with the J2SE v 1.4.1.

    I recently watched the IMAX Space Station 3D move and not only did it convice me that the entire space program is a hoax, but that this so-called "Russia" place is too.

    But seriously, a lot of people develop beneath the "enterprise level" and some of the buzzword concepts just don't scale that well for smaller project.

    In my opinion, the two things that have really made a difference are databases (as opposed to manually creating file formats) and the object-oriented paradigm.

    My best advice is to use everything with a grain of salt because there is always something "better" on the horizon.

    Thanks. The system is just a basic framework that does the essentials. It could potentially be expanded in a lot of different ways. I actually think the next step is to back off on the vision system and try to enhance the language acquisition capabilities using a virtual vision system (e.g. a game engine). Once vision technology catches up a bit then you could incorporate a better "real" vision system.

    Although not as linguistically powerful as systems such as A.L.I.C.E., I have developed a system that can learn nouns and verbs based on visual perception. It starts to address the issue of teaching a computer to associate meaning with words.

    Because people understood that my comment was of a humorous nature employing a device known as 'sär-"ka-z&m.

    For just $100, you too could have your very own bachelors, masters, or even doctorate degree from one of our fine non-accredited institutions. Because we understand how important your time is, we don't require all of tedious (and expensive) coursework necessary at an accredited university.

    I've been working on a system that acquires a language of nouns and verbs in a bottom-up fashion based on visual perception. It is by no means intelligent, but I truly believe that grounded, bottom-up learning is the key to A.I.

    My dissertation is available online from my web site. I hope to have the (open source) source code posted later today.
