Price discrimination works both ways. It is in fact particularly beneficial for poor people. Selling drugs to poor countries at lower than US prices is price discrimination. Selling cars for $500,000 to rich people is price discrimination.
I think it's either/or. If you vote 1 only thats OK If you vote 1,2,3,4 etc to the end of the list thats OK but if you vote 1,2,3 and there are more than 3 its not ok. Until recently you hads to vote for each candidate or the vote was invalid.
If they can require you to go to the polls on a certain day, then they can require you to spend a couple days cleaning up a floodzone, or maybe a couple months of filing papers for Big Brother...

Apparently the bulk of BuyMusic's selection is from Orchard and artists are recieving little, if any recompense for it. I'm guessing BuyMusic won't last long. Just my two cents.
If the RIAA keeps suing people the drop off rate of users will increase dramatically. No hard evidence on that but its a reasonable assumption. So if you continue to use your chances of getting sued goes up dramatically.
So you have to balance the increasing risk of getting sued with the attendant hugh monetary loss, against the decreasing benefit of downloading files at no gain (remember how you wouldn't have bought them anyway so having them is of pasycological benefit only, certainly not monetary).
Humans are notoriously bad at making these judgements and have been shown to consistently under estimate risk and over estimate rewards. Even when they do judge the overall risk well, they often then add the caveat 'but that won't happen to me' and go and do it anyway. So should news be more balanced. If one news channel is biased one way and shows facts that support that bias is it OK for another channel to be biased the other. Does this give balance. Should all news channels be balanced in themselves.
