    Their actions differ but their outlook on the world is similar. They cannot stand different beliefs. They need the world around them to be fitted to their idea of what it should be regardless of the facts.

    It isn't just teaching pseudo-science, it is also control of sexuality, court rooms, government, etc.

    Too bad there are so many unlike him. It always is easier to judge others and hide in a group of like minded folks than it is to have quiet personal faith and make your life an example. I guess most people's beliefs are fundamentally weak and require that everyone around them think and act the same way for them to keep their faith.

    Ah, Christian Fundamentalists, America's Taliban.

    Religious fundamentalism is the kiss of death for a creative society. These right-wing extremists would have fit right into Pol Pot's vision of an agrarian society devoid of intellectuals and teachers.

    If they are going to dictate what is taught in schools then I expect the government then should have the right to regulate churches. They should then enforce equal access laws forcing churches to accommodate Jews, Muslims, etc.

    If someone used that to monitor professionals I guarantee that any office space problems they might have would be solved very quickly.

    I suspect they would only use this to make life miserable for hourly "low skilled" workers like data entry folks.

    I liked being able to do some work from home at a previous job. When I had to choose between sitting around work late or coming in very early to see if a job run without errors before the rest of the developers came in vs being able to check for 5 minutes before going to bed I was glad I could do it from home.

    Plus, if I was just sick enough to not want to go to work but not sick enough to stop me from actually working I could sit comfortably at home in slippers and work from there.

    You are absolutely right. I have a background in physics and have done some grad level CS work and my conclusion is the same. The vast majority of physicists get hired by the gov, a few get picked up by small companies (i.e. optical devices). CS people seem to be mainly in academia and a few working for MS.

    True, but money bought me some great trips and some really fun times with my wife. Money may not buy happiness but it sure helps.
