No encryption/copy protection scheme is secure. If one must unencrypt it to use it then its crackable. Period. If you think apple will be able to 'lock it down', you're gravely mistaken IMHO. Apple WANTS this to happen. Steve Jobs is finally getting back at Bill Gates. Look at it this way. Gates once upon a time royally SCREWED over Jobs and made billions doing it. Well Microsoft has dug its own grave with stagnation and Vista and they're currently most vulnerable. What does jobs do? He pulls out his nuclear weapon, OSX x86 and points it at Gates and pulls the trigger. Mark my words. By 2010 Apple will have 50%+ of the PC OS market and Microsoft's stock will be falling as they work on SP1 for Vista and Internet Explorer 7, which still crashed regularly and is riddled with spyware still while every major software and gaming company is busily relasing World of Warcraft 2, Everquest 3, Quake 5, and Halflife 3 on OSX.

Die Microsoft die- its about fucking time. (this coming from a once upon a time hard-core windows user/mac hater - check out my slashdot profile to see what I mean)

THE SISTER WAS WRONGLY ACCUSED. The brother was the spammer here. He used his sisters credit card to purchase stuff over the internet to fund his spam business. Due to it being in her name she got dragged into the case by an overzealous prosecutor. The judge CORRECTLY fixed this error on the jury's part. THE SPAMMER IN THIS CASE WENT TO JAIL(the bother) I wish the friggin posters would RTFA sometimes...

The poster of this article has it ALL WRONG. I live in virginia and have been following this case closely. The main spammer in question who did all the spamming, setup the spamming business, and was responsible for 100% of it WAS CONVICTED AND SENT TO JAIL. HOWEVER, during this he used his sisters credit card to purchase hardware/broadband for his spamming operation which the prosecutor thought was grounds to convict her as well. The Judge threw out HER CONVICTION ONLY due to the fact that he was convinced she had no part of it and didn't realize what the stuff her brother was buying was to be used to. THE HEAD SPAMMER DIDNT GET OFF, ONLY HIS (possibly) WRONGLY ACCUSED SISTER DID. Good lord, I wish the fuggin slashdot POSTERS would RTFA sometimes....

I still have my HP Deskjet 500C that i bought in 1991 for $800....one of the first color deskjets HP ever made. The color printing on it no longer works but the black text only printing(which is all I ever do)- works great. The cartridges can be bought on the cheap off of the net from refiller companies(i dont really care if they are low quality as ive gotten the value out of this printer years ago). As for these new printers and these new features? I plan on buying a non-hp brand of printers whenever this old one I have gives out. My parents bought an 882C and a new 2500C recently. They both were crap- the extra 'features' the software contain, most of the time, cause it to have spooling errors, etc etc. And now- expiration dates on carts? BS. I'll switch to Epson or Canon. HP/Compaq needs to get their heads in gear and realize that they got to where they currently are by making quality, supported, products(well, at least thats the case for the HP side of the company).

I wonder though- is there a place that we could report spam to the virginia prosecutors? Perhaps our state attorney general could setup a spam email and state residents could forward their spam there for the prosecutors to go after :)

Ive created a small news section at http://www.tuzworld.com/news.htm in order to have an easy means to checking breaking news concerning the war with Iraq. Feel free to use it yourself. Again, not very many people will find this useful probably, but I am posting it anyway.
