I just set up a couple citrix servers dedicated to viewing video across an internal LAN link. The viewers are not in our network, but we have access to a shared LAN link (small gov). It seems to work very well.
ESXi is ok, but there are limitations that are not obvious.
For example, the version of sftp throttles your speed, so if you pop another drive in and try to copy something, you should be prepared to wait hours. The file system it uses is also not supported in any of the bootable linux CD's I usually use. I think they were considering adding it to the system rescue cd. Suffice to say, this makes migration and backup tediuos...
BSD is interesting to me. I tried to use it for an internal netdisco install. I've been using Linux for at least a decade and I've built plenty of LAMP servers. Sure enough, I got NetDisco working and everything seemed great, until I decided to run and update on the system...
Still can't get apache to load... probably going back to openSUSE...
Go to the Shriners hospital and ask to speak to someone who handles the budget, or manages the hospital. Ask them what it would take to handle all the charity care that the evil government currently handles. Hint: Your delusional..
If you truly care about charity, why is it better to give to a private entity instead of forming your own entity that can handle things how you decide? Ask all the rich people why they form their own charities instead of giving to existing charities. Part of it is that their charity is not always real "charity", but part of it is making sure their money does the work they want it to. Why should taxpayers be denied that? Why is it evil to form a federal program to direct our tax dollars?
Here is a good starting point for your education, http://okpolicy.org/charity-cant-replace-safety-net
I forgot to mention this above, but no insurance is just not an option. You will happily hoard your money and pretend you don't care, until you need help. Then you will be a charity case at the hospital, expecting society to take care of you.
You can say it ain't so, but it is so... Everybody needs to contribute, everybody needs to benefit.
Here's a suggestion, support single payer. It's the only method that allows a truly diverse risk pool. An entire country. Your pool probably had some more expensive outliers.
None of the morons telling these stories are aware that they will be getting better (significantly) coverage. They just know they had to change their plan. So what if their old plan capped out if you sprained your ankle. They have the illusion that they were paying for something useful.
The doctors leaving problem roc speaks about has been going on for a long time and predates the ACA. It has more to do with increased healthcare dollars allocated to drugs and specialty doctors. It really sucks if you are in a rural area instead of an urban center. The ACA will probably help with some of these problems, ironically enough...
A company, must spend 80% of what it brings in, on healthcare. This is an attempt to cap profits, but I have my doubts if it will work. 20% of $20 million is more then 20% of $10 million. My guess is that this will feed into the outrageous increases in cost of healthcare.
Your post about Bronze, Silver, and Platinum makes no sense...
if I had $2500+ a month to spend on doctors, I'd buy a doctor
Sounds like a high quality doctor if he is willing to work for $30k / year. You would quickly be in the hole if your doc needed any testing/imaging equipment or expensive medicine.
Your ignorance and skill at over simplification is truly astounding. I am in awe of your ability to compare and apple and an orange as if they were virtually identical, more like an apple and a goat skull...
If you have in depth knowledge of fraud and have not reported it, you are part of the problem. I would love to see some sort of articles or anything to indicate some truth to your anecdote. I'm sure you're view is not slanted or in any way colored by emotion.
So, you noticed the need is too great for the supply. From this input you take away that the whole system should be scrapped? Not fixed, not funded better?
And while something on your network being owned is a likely problem, that is not the only possible problem. You could have a bad nic that is spitting out bad packets. This is why we use managed switches on big networks.
If you have an old PC lying around or can borrow one, try putting up a real firewall, like pfsense. This will let you see more of what is entering and exiting your network. It doesn't have to be a permanent installation.
Which doesn't mean they didn't try to get bipartisan support. There are plenty of obvious attempts in the current law, but you would ignore the beam in your eye while you try to pick the splinter out of your companions.
That's true, neither of those are supported, but I expect N will be available soon. This guys appears to be cost conscious, so I doubt he is running N or AC equipment.
The 2.0 series works well with wifi. I have been running pfsense on Alix hardware using an Atheros chipset wifi card and it has been rock solid for at least 5 years. I update it occasionally, but it is truly no maintenance.
If your wireless card is supported for AP mode it is a great solution, feel free to email me with questions.

OK, let's just say your neighbor got cancer, does that make you feel better?
comprehension fail...

Rush, is that you?

well said, wish I had a mod point today....

Truly a man of compassion.

pfsense shines if you are doing virtual infrastructure.

Just because people like to watch a car crash doesn't mean they want to be in one.

That is a "gift" to the people of the United States from the Democratic party.
Bush sent us a check... (still wish he was in prison...)
