  1. Re:Yes, but complain to the site owner on Web Designers Ignoring Standards and Support IE Only · · Score: 0

What a load of crap. Most of us Mozilla and Linux users are perfectly willing to pay (not ourageously) for products and services. I think that people motivated by $$ only need to re-evaluate their futures... Pissing off potential customers will not bring you more business.

If you stopped writing browser specific code checking the browser would be unnecessary. The only reason the Opera lies is because some sites will only let you in if you return IE for your browser.

What a retarted reply. Which distro has the "obligitory link" that you talk of? Where is it in Mandrake 8.2?
BTW, it is the public that uses software not just us geeks and their numbers makes or breaks commercial software companies.

I don't think that one company's demise is an indication of the entire industry. IMHO, a lot of Loki's problems were caused by lack of exposure to the general public. Isn't this what cause a lot of the DOTCOM bust, spending all the money on development/parties but not making sure that product was being sold or that income was being established?

  7. The networks' schedules and shows on PVRs and Advertisers' Worries · · Score: 0

    Hello all:
Usually I just lurk, but I must say something about this.
Most of these network programming people are completely out of touch with their audiences. They continue to treat us a 3 year olds by telling us what our tasts are. They keep putting shows on at bad times and killing good shows (for example Good VS. Evil, Futurama ... the list goes on). If they asked us what we want instead of telling us what we want, maybe they could come up with a better way to pay for programming. i would be willing to pay a yearly fee, if I was confident that they would show us what we want.
    Thanks

  8. Why does music have to aim at the L.C.D. on Matsumoto/Daft Punk Videos Online · · Score: 0

The animation is fantastic, and looks good on slower machines. The music is awful(sp?). How about someone does this kind of animation for , say, Emerson, Lake and Palmer's Brain Salad Surgery or Yes's Fragile. There is some really good new music coming out of Italy (DFA or Deus Ex Machina)that might be appropriate.
BTW, L.C.D. is Lowest Common Denominator

Once again we get to hear about the sizzle but where's the beef. We always talk about the "mahketing", but how about the product. This has allways irritated me aboout advertising, it re-directs your attention from the product to the image.
Who is M$soft's competitors out side of the OpenSource community? M$ seems to either buy or "strong arm" them out of existance. M$ has not yet destroyed any competition be cause of superior product.

I have a Sony C1VN with a ATI Mobility M1 and 8 MB VRAM. I am able to run all the OpenGL games under linux (except Tribes 2 is really slow). True I have to use X 3.3.6 and UTAH-GLX, but it works, on this low-end 3D card. The X developers are working on PCI DRI support for Mach64 chips for 4.X releases of X. I can't get Winders to do the same.
