    Not to slip into needless pedantism, but how exactly can a remake be considered an original program?
    They are referring to it being a show they produced and being aired on their network for the first time as opposed to other sf shows which they just show re-runs of.

    We're not talking about Microsoft making their software run extra slow on older processors as an incentive to buy new hardware. Intel is a chip manufacturer. They make a compiler to compile code for their chips. I am sure it is highly optimized for their chipset. I love AMD, but I think in this case they should stop bitching about it and produce a compiler that produces sceaming code for Athlons and Opterons.

    Of course I don't like paying for software so I'll stick with gcc -mtune=k8

    WFW is what made me the Unix admin I am today. I remember trying to get both the TCP and IPX stack loaded at the same time. What a pain that was.

    The way I read it is it only deals with PUBLIC use and says nothing about PRIVATE use. Therefore, grabs for PRIVATE use are constitutional by virtue of it not being unconstitutional.

    This is true, however, it is nice to be able to scan for Microsoft viruses on your Unix file and email servers. Oh well. Good thing there is ClamAV.

    Who doesn't know why it failed? Just yesterday when I was talking to someone about the launch I wondered if those Russian ICBMs even still work. It came as no surprise to hear today that they don't.

    Wrong kind of nanotech. If you read the article you would've seen that all they have developed is a polymer molecule. The "grey goo" would come from nano machines that self replicate. That has nothing to do with this.

    Apple is a platform company. Apple brand is based on a user "experience". Both the hardware and software are designed as complimentary components to an integrated platform. Seperating the hardware and software will hurt the Apple brand as a whole.

    This is total unadulterated crap. I have a G4 at home with OSX. I also have an AMD Athlon system I put together myself which runs Gentoo and windows. They both have a keyboard, mouse, 19" monitor, a really good graphics card, sound card, USB, and firewire. If I could run OSX on my AMD system I can't see how my "experience" would be any difference. I've loaded the Gentoo livecd on the G4 and to be honest I don't see anything different experience wise. Therefore, the experience must be completely contained within the OS.

    Print speed - 800 mm per second.
    Energy saving - Deformable Piezo actuator provides 1/14 of the power requirement of conventional nozzles. For example, the A6 picture sample on the right requires only 3 watts of power, at 150 sheets per minute.
    Size - Trapezoidal nozzle zone shape provides for dense arrangement of cavities. The result is a head which is 152 mm wide, 22 mm deep and 1 mm high. Heads can be arranged in longer arrays as needed.
    Droplet size - Unspecified. 4 sizes available.
    Reliability - 10 billion dots/nozzle or more (still testing).
