Yeah religion can be self fulfilling. "Be fruitful and multiply. Fill the earth and govern it. Reign over the fish in the sea, the birds in the sky, and all the animals that scurry along the ground", is the main cause of the problems
I am late to checking my rss inbox, but has there been a good deep dive to the problems in development that might turn people off? James Damore comes to mind as someone that tried to genuinely bring up an issue, but well didn't work out so well to actually address anything. This and other issues could really turn potential CS students. I have seen to too much arm chair logic that has no research behind it, "You know why people don't go for CS", then a reason based on no research
The loss of factory worker job's in the 'merica isn't just china. It has been quoted around, and I did find a marketwatch which I do think is fairly credible, 'merica has double it's manufacturing since 1984 but is only using one third the workforce. The factories here have a tendency to be better quality products like autos that aren't just the big 3, such as VW and Mercedes in the south. Here in Indiana we hav a GM pickup plant, but also Toyota, Subaru and Honda plants.
I really do think climate change is a real concern, but do hope people are a bit more cautious when to point finger of an event caused by it. If it turns out not to be so, it is just ammunition for the persistent deniers
They were fine heeing and hawing to their public, then jumping for 'merica when asked. Now with all the fight picking Trump has done, they will put real effort into becoming independent from 'merica. China isn't just laughing, they are salivating. If Trump thinks google is biased, wait for the censorship China deploys on their internet to become global under One Belt One Road
Last I knew the average since Trump has been in, is a coal plant closed every 15 days. I am sure this is why there was talk to claim national security as a way to stop the closures
I did some work on porting custom server OS to different. We were add no new features, we were only addressing any issues found. Agile was shoved on us and I constantly wondered how it was useful. Later when I had a bit of time to read up, I saw how useless it was for us. The most useful is web programming were the user is forced to use the latest version, next is software that requires upgrading but ignorant of hardware is the next, last any development the developer is interfacing with specific hardware there is no advantage
Back in 2009/2010 I followed daily why the barrel price would change. I would just use google new searching for oil, barrel price, etc. The articles written for the price change most often than not would have a bs feel like they may not tell the whole story.
Once instance the price went fast at the beginning of the day because the oil supplies at the refineries had dropped, then turned right around and dropped below the start of the day due to the fact that the refineries were producing heating oil to be ready for the coming winter, a normal part of the business. About a week later the price went up again because it was report the supply last week dropped, without mentioning the logical reason why.
Another instance the price of the barrel was regularly going up because the supplies were decreasing in December. The stated reason was likely because of demand. I finally found an article pointing out there used (not sure if still the case) be inventory tax on oil at the end of December.
My better understanding of the market, I see the investors with a clue like how they can predictably make money from oil. That is why some don't like Tesla
Statements like these are what I call arm chair logic. You take a number such as number of times more energy consumption, and then make an assumption how to interpret it based on essentially nothing
What would you consider the specifics of 30 year in the making to destroy the edu system? What factor do you think the evangelicals co-opting the issue with their solutions of charter schools?
One thing I know, the Steele dossier was initial funded by the anti-Trump republicans. This aspect is not addressed in the memo, so taking information out context is very possibly done by Nunes. With his previous out of norms intel sharing (the norms allowing others in congress before sharing with Trump is a good norm) makes this very likely it was taken out of context. The only way I see now to get a good understand if or not the memo is out of context, is to release the entire Carter Page FISA application. Which obviously isn't going to happen

Recycling is more the last option, reducing and reusing as much as possible instead of recycling it much better.

Yep if a venture capitalist does about anything, it is for their profitability advantage. Just the title of the post made me think he has skin in it
