"However, when prolonged activity (i.e., sustained fast clock frequency) causes the processor’s temperature to become dangerously high for proper operation, the clock frequency is reduced so as to maintain processing speed at a reduced speed while preventing overheating".
Having Adobe supporting a specific platform isn't enough, they need to provide quality too. Just look at the 32 bit Linux flash player crashing and hogging CPU.
And instead trying to actually try to get it perform fine, the devs justrant about their unability to make things work properly on Linux, blaming the APIs.
A friend of mine worked as a programmer for a company that sells gambling machines with clients in Peru and Austria AFAIK. A few months ago he resigned and went to a non-gambling related company (for a better salary) without problems.
You can configure the shell to work with more confort with the case sensivity issues. Gentoo comes with tcsh preconfigured to behave like that.
IMHO i don't find case-sensitiveness an annoying issue, rapid fingers and the blessed tab-autocomplete do the work easy for me.
Putting aside all the biological stuff, I think that rather than saying "Girls suck at games", just because they lack some capabilities (or simply they don't have them properly "trained"), one have to understand seriously "why". And besides the biological differences (genitals, hormones, brain, pH, etc), there are also some social facts. The simple example on children: girls tend to play with dolls and boys with toy soldiers; since little, girls are taught that the meaning of playing with dolls is neccessary, that it will be useful when they will be mothers (well, I think that that's the subliminar message that lies behind), a lot of the sense of responsability is put into the things that little girls do when they play. With boys, the only thing that matters is to have fun and to prove to be the best of all.
Now, take a couple, boy and girl, take these simple ideas, make them grow (let's see what happen to them in their 15-16s), and see the result. If the boy, by chance get a good way with video games (now it does happen a lot), will have a lot of advantage compared with the girl that, most probably, won't have the least interest in video games, at most she would use the computer to have a little fun chatting with his friends or surfing the net.
My conclusion is that most girls simply aren't interesed in video games and, worst, some of them (including my girlfriend) simply think that ones like me that like video games are losing their time and are simple a bunch of ummature, lazy and hopeless bums.
Well, of course this was taken from the point of view of the society where I'm living.
It's nice that one of the giants to adopt this position, but I wonder about the form of these drivers. Maybe it's me, but I find more convenient to have drivers that can be compiled as kernel modules, and diffently from, for example Nvidia drivers, that they're not closed source, and license-compatible with the Linux kernel, so people can contribute in order to improve them, and maybe who knows if they can be integrated in the Linux kernel tree.
Maybe i'm being too idealist.
Atari tried to put this technology into arcades, with Race Drivin' Panorama. There were 3 and 5 screen versions, but only prototypes existed.
Check some nice photos and specs here and here
I just remember seeing people using Sun workstations for the first time, when they logged in for the first time and were asked to choose a graphical environment, most of them mistook OpenWindows for a "Windows made by Sun", and ended disappointed when saw that it wasn't even a bit like MS Windows.
One of the problems with words that sound alike is the people that tend to be confused about them.
This case looks just like Microsoft trying to step over its competitors with a worthless excuse. I don't remember Microsoft sueing Sun for the OpenWindows desktop that comes with Solaris.
From the article:

This reminds me about this classic Tom's Hardware video about what happens to a CPU when the heat sink is removed.
I really like NB (fast, unbloated, compact), but for GWT applications development Eclipse is superior.

the site has just been slashdotted. It looks like slashdotters are somewhat playful today.
The i-Pod is a machine, an unanimated, non-living object! How do you think you will kill something like this, you insensitive clod!
