  1. Ultimate Proof on "iSCSI killer" Native in Linux · · Score: 1, Offtopic

This thread in the iSCSI Killer story is ultimate proof that teenagers in their parent's basements all around the world have taken over Slashdot. In the days of yore, there would have been a lot of loud rejoicing at ATA over Ethernet. Today, nothing but a bunch of lame jokes based on gaming by high school drop outs. Yes, the days of Slashdot have come and gone. There is no hope.

You are unaware of the whole picture. The fact is that most of the food industry uses ingredients in their food that are known to increase appetite. Corn syrup, high levels of salt, MSG, etc... They do this because it makes people want to buy and eat more and more of their food. There is a whole science behind this because it's very profitable. With the passage of that bill, people cannot sue companies who intentionally produced food to increase consumption, not to mention "super sizing". Can you imagine if the cigarette industry got a bill passed that said they couldn't be held accountable for people being addicted to the nicotine additive? Same thing.

They don't have the ability to grasp the concepts of the products they are trying to sell which is why many really great things never see the light of day. Sadly, if you leave the company in the hands of the techs, we tend to have little to no business sense and therefore the companies we run tend to go down in flames, in spite of the incredible products we might offer. (See: Digital Equipment Corporation. They had 64-bit before everyone else. Not only that, but they had a laptop that was 64-bit and running Windows NT, OpenVMS and Digital Unix. I think it has something to do with your consciousness readjusting to a timeline shift. Considering that the metaverse is made up of an infinite number of universes that take every possibility into account and our consciousnesses are just reading through the data in a non-linear fashion, it's easy to see how a slight difference in one timeline can result in a little synchronization problem when you jump from one line to another. Don't believe me? Try it yourself. Focus on one particular small aspect of your reality and think of how it could be slightly different. With some practice you can control your read through the metaverse timelines and forcibly jump from one to the next. The article and the research commented on therein is either a misunderstanding on the part of the researchers or deliberate obfuscation to keep a larger part of the population from controlling their timeline reads. And you've listed three reasons that only idiots would use dual booting for:

    1. Test evnironment. WHY? Why waste a physical box on a test environment unless you're running a signifcantly underpowered box that can't handle virtualization or you have so many machines you don't know what to do with them? There is no excuse to dual boot for testing these days.
    2. Curiosity. This implies that the user doesn't know what they want to do with their machine. So the original post that made that statement was quite correct. The people who want to counter him just don't seem to get it or are being purposely obtuse.
    3. Because you can. You could go get trepanned to relieve a headache (which is about equivalent to dual boot) but given that you have the option to take an NSAID, I think you would choose the latter unless you are a masochist. This "reason" is probably the stupidest reason that should be left back in third grade where it originated.

In every instance where someone has had to deal with dual boot set ups, there have been tons of inconveniences and problems that are easily avoided by virtualization. Doesn't matter if you use VMWare, QEMU, Xen or that other forgettable VM... VirtualServer. They are all preferrable to dual booting. Anyone who disagrees with me is an idiot.
