But, buddy... they had a CD-Rom drive...
so its the same thing... just less capacity.
They all had their own way of storing a program,
most of the boxen you've listed stored all the progams in interchangeable ROM's, now they're on disc format. Are you suggesting that boxes should have no way to get a program into them (dvd drive, etc)
What is the point you're actually getting at?
Do you want to be some sort of HDD, DVD smashing luddite?
I've been wondering about that "can of worms my self". From the article, it didn't appear to be any special HDD... but they were fucking lackluster pics. You'd think they'd lean towards some sort of "ruggedised" drive... like something you'd get out of a laptop that spends a whole lot of time in the field. I can't count how many times my buddies and i have kicked the PS1 around, and have dropped it and stuff.
M$ is either going to be replacing a lot of
drives in these, or shock damage to the disk is not going to be covered by warranty.
Anyone have links to the warranty for these boxen?
they're gonna break... i know it
Dude, since when does a NDA mean anything?
I'm under NDA here, working for the market leader
of handheld computers, and i've posted lots of times. If you're so afraid of M$'s rabid team lawyerdroids, post anonymously...
Besides, what you've just posted is conjecture.
I can say that the hard drive is several steps above and beyond anything available in your grandmothers pc... but have no evidence to back my claim up makes it a moot point.
I totally agree with you...
i wish that the xbox was going to have
REAL USB ports, so i could just plug in my
keyboard and optical mouse...
i just won't feel right with a gamepad...
"Also, I don't recall the PC having more titles than consoles especially if you combine all the console games together versus all the PC games. Plus, I've never heard of too many PC games selling in the millions of copies while the hit console games usually do (see the exclusive games list)."
You know why? 1 Guy buys a copy and then puts in on warez boards, or makes cdr's and passes them to his buddies...
Hey, it never hurts
to throw on a small version
of norton anti virus...
-OR-
if yer an asshole....
make it a bootable cd, and have it
boot to a CLI, and format their
root drive...
You know what?
I get modded down even when i'm posting
something on topic, and insightful...
I think i might have to take the same action as i did in real life...
whenever somebody doesn't take me seriously...
i get a board with a nail in it and beat them...
yeah!
actually bud, it's two different problems...
but seeing as you are probably the alarmist type of consumer, you will be quick to think
that all problems syncing a m series palm to xp is a hardware issue... FOR SHAME!!!!!!!!!!
this is an autobiography...
they were all running businesses at this
"speed of stupid"
as well as giving Taco hot sauce enemas!
Don't you just love the Troll Tuesdays?
Your buddy should try using Nero burning rom,
or CDRwin, they both work pretty well when
forcing XP to use Adaptec's ASPI drivers...
do a search on google for "force ASPI"
and you'll find a few good apps that will fix this issue. Besides, why would you want to have microsoft software making coasters everytime you wanna burn a game?
I have it on my pc as well, but i will not let it burn anything for me... NERO rules!
If anything the III&V series should work better than the new ones. Xp doesn't choke so hard with serial connections. USB on the other
hand fucks it right up, unless you
are using desktop 4.01 and possibly even
the hotsync updater for 4.01.
But, if you've had your palm for 90+ days,
calling tech support is not a good choice.
They are at $25/issue now, email support is now the best choice for the support.
Hey, try this...
one of our L2 procedures for the m500 series, may also work for a HS with a usb cradle...
1. Put the CD Rom for Palm Desktop into the CD drive. (cancel the installation).
2. Go to Device Manager (push the HotSync button to get the palm devise to show up under unknown devices).
3. Double click on Palm os device
4. Under general, Click reinstall drivers
*NOTE* You will be given a list of driver to chose from, you need to chose the ones with the CD Drive in front of it (EG. D:/Palm usbd or E:\palmusbd).
After you choose the drivers XP will install them.
The only time you're gonna have problems syncing to XP, is if you are running an m500/m125 series palm. The drivers that are built in to the palm desktop are not digitally signed so the average xp user will not have changed the option for driver signing.... and if you don't it will not load any non M$ digitally signed driver.
If you are using the palm usb connect kit, that is almost the same thing, the drivers aren't signed, and a lot of pc's have trouble allocating a COM port to the USB driver.
Here in the office, we can make them all work with most any OS(palm support, ontario canada).
But, the users that buy them aren't the smartest folk anymore... Try explaining driver signing and user rights management to Big Joe Bob from arkansas...
dude.... they never specify which license this whole operation will be run under...
so we don't know where they're going to go with it... and it was never intended as a troll.
This is a troll:
i fucked your mom!
hell no, this is early as hell.
i don't make it into the office until 9:30...
and its only 11 right now...
its still breakfast time.
Now heres a topic for debate, when does breakfast time end and when does lunch begin?
Should we all go by McDonalds hours?
I think its just IBM trying to get some development for free...
They're going to show everybody their "public domain" code as they call it,
then take all revisions and improvements made by the community, and then profit from them.
Sure, if they were trying to share for everyone else's benefit, it would be great... but keep in mind... this from the people that brought you the IBM Aptiva!
warning... The page is in japanese, but pictures are universal
Right here way better than tech tv

because you're the lone guy sitting in his room, playing excitebike all night, who hasn't decided to get a NES emulator and some ROMS...

how is that offtopic? because he got the FP, and it wasn't a total troll? FOR SHAME, you damn mods keep pissing me off!
