I was in a rather large OS/2 shop at one point and just before I moved on they migrated everything to windows. ( blah ) This was in the late 90's. our facility had about 1000 machines running it, and there were several hundred facilities. We also had a bunch of machines running dos as print servers, all on PC/Net. ( bonus points if you figure out who i worked for:) ).
They were PS/2 machines so there was a bit of a hurdle for the custom micro channel cards, but they did it.
I would have assumed by now most others would have as well.
I loved OS/2 back in the old days, it was rock solid and took advantage of the hardware you gave it ( both for servers and workstations ), but this is 2010, is there still a market?
Also, while i agree there are things such as Google groups that are similar, its still not Usenet, and if you weren't a snot nosed kid, you would understand the difference. ( hint, one is distributed, another is a single point of failure/control, for starters. )
And ya, Usenet isn't what it used to be due to the dumbing down of the net due to the influx of idiots "oooh, click, its pretty", but it still has a place, especially as governments try to crack down on information freedoms.
May not even exist in Brazil.
And to think i just tossed out 20 of them the other day.. Should have held on to them to sell later as supplies dry up.

The earth will implode !
Or they will just assign v6 addresses..
Same sorts of companies that give you free food for life for a logo tattoo, that doesn't even have to be visible.
Or dogs.. or road signs.. kids at the bus stop... or that moron that keeps weaving back and forth 3 cars ahead..
Of course, but it will be a question of how many layers can you go until things become unusable. At some point it wont be realistic.
Send it to me, ill go thru it.
The problem is too far into the future the host you chose to emulate on may not exist either..
Or something like that :) ( yes i know its a different franchise, don't flame me )
Seriously tho, its a loss for scifi fans, but i know personally i wish him well in retirement.
EULA gave them the right to change it on a whim.. Pretty much your only recourse is to stop using the hardware. ( ie, their firmware )
Someone needs to return their device and demand a refund since they don't agree, then start a class action... and stop this nonsense.
If you agree to the EULA, they have permission.
Not graphical mapping but does do inventory.. Hook it to OCS and it will collect some data for you automatically.
Not when 80% of their products go to Apple now.
Cool!
My foot it is.. Its their competition that is trying to stir stuff up.
Sure, it may be a valid concern, but when they hide behind fake 'watchdog' group names, you have to question the motivation.
Shhhh, that sounds like scope creep... that would never happen.. /sarcasm OFF
Don't forget insurance companies will get a hold of the info too " we see you travel in high crime areas, we are going to raise your rates"
If they are willingly shipping with major bugs, they are tearing it down themselves.
To you perhaps it is, but others its not.

It could be for their back end, to save power over intel.
They might save enough $ in power savings alone to make it worth buying the chip company.. AND not be reliant on anyone else.
Why is it any different then any other day? Lawsuits are just the name of the game now.. no matter what a company does *someone* is going to sue..
If you are going to put it into a VM, just use the one you know the best it wont care.
Ok ok, i typoed i meant 'states'...
Yes, the government needs to know what book you bought, not just how much you paid for it. /sarcasm off
I hope this is the part that is frightening people, not that the feds are trying to get more $..
