While they are quite entertaining, they lack any scientific background at all and mostly 'wing it'.
Many of their 'failed' projects are in fact doable. But not without some real skills and knowledge in that particular field that they are working with at the time.
I run both, and have very little trouble with VMware and the OS that is being run under it.
If you want to compare speeds, QEMU still lags way behind VMware, and unless you have one hell of a machine, you cant use it in production as its way too slow.
QEMU also has major troubles with hosting windows installs, which is what most people in business use VMWare for. ( virtual servers )
Dont get me wrong QEMU is a great thing and its improving quickly, but i would still not trust it for production, yet.
To get them to think about their place in the world, make them question what they feel is right and wrong, and that they need to sometimes think outside the box.
As far as why i think he was a patriot: He saw his country being destroyed by the actions of Lincoln, and placed his life on the line in order to defend his country..
Sometimes you have no choice, other then hire a programmer, which is not practical for everyone that buys 'boxed' software. If it was practical, they wouldnt have bought the software in a box..
Sure, 95% of what is 'windows only' is actually replaceable, but there are a few that are not, yet. So dont over generalize too much about them making poor decisions.
Is this just effecting 'food chain' type birds, or does it also hit more exotic pets?
Not saying it would be good to lose all our food poultry from our diets and dooming us to 2 choices of meats, but losing a pet can be devastating to many.
All kidding aside, once you get all your animals chipped, its easier to accept criminals having them, then have your child carry a chip.. then embed it..
There may be no sinister intent here, but it does breed acceptance.
And of course you can take your snake for a walk.. Or rather a 'slither'. Never owned a big snake have ya?
A real hacker ( the old style MIT kind, not the current model of a criminal ) would write his own OS from scratch.
Or at the least choose BSD, which is much older and mature then the very idea of 'linux'.
I was speaking in generalities, not specifics.
Of course there are *some* apps that are worth the time for them, but i still believe that for most, the $ return just isnt there yet.
In 5 years? Who knows. But not today.
They are busy supporting their money making market, their windows users.
1% of their users that want a linux native version wont get many companies to allocate the resources. its just not cost effective.
Too many people are out of work these days due to plant closings and businesses outsorcing everyting, including the kitchen sink.
Be glad you get a paycheck. After having to live thru 2 bankrupt companies, I am..
Or you could just buy a license after the trial period.

But still, its a cool show and fun to watch.
There is only one way to stop the wholesale destruction of our rights by governmental bodies.
Revolution. Nothing short of this will make a bit of difference.
If we encrypt *everything* it will make the task of tapping too daunting.
man, what an eyefull.
I think you are in the wrong forum to be tossing around facts like that..
Its not 30 day of use, its 30 days on a calendar basis, from date of issue.
You can get a free 30 day license from VMware for their regular product.
Make as many VM's you want and when it expires you can still use the 'runtime' thing.
I run both, and have very little trouble with VMware and the OS that is being run under it.

We have a station here that does this on a regular basis ( and gets fined ), so it looks like the answer is yes, the FCC is still relevant.
If they were to dissapear, it would result in radio-kaos. Broadcast TV, ham radio, wi-fi, emergency radio, you name it.
A large monopoly using its power against the upcoming competition.. Go figure.
This is news?
I may be a northerner myself, but my heart is still in the south.
History is important, it should never be lost or diluted over the generations.
Its mostly marketing is why you pay what you pay.
As long as they can charge you 50 bucks a month, they will. Until most of their customers balk, the price wont drop.
Its just a fact of life here, charge what you can get away with.
Its there to make people think.
To get them to think about their place in the world, make them question what they feel is right and wrong, and that they need to sometimes think outside the box.

If he did commit crimes, i agree.
If he did not ( spam IS legal if you follow the rules remember ), then its harassment.
Not all are criminals, and while annoying as hell, do follow the laws so they can stay in business.
Just wondering if he actually did something or they are just harassing a businessman ( that does something rude, but legal, for a living. )

I do remember at one point they were pretty popular as 'desktops' over in the UK. I even wanted to get an Acorn myself at one point.
I was sort of hoping I was wrong, and they werent fading away slowly. Thats a shame.
Hey, so what if its a tragedy with massive implications, lets make a profit off it!
But isnt the hardware development too?
Sure i could be wrong in this case, but i didnt think the hardware was flying out of the R&D labs either and seemed 'behind the times' somewhat.
