I agree its not how the system was intended to operate, but its how the system has 'morphed'.
I'm afraid its going to get far worse before it gets better ( unless the big players come along and just take control, which in that case it WONT get better )
I think that is unfortunately indictive of the current state of affairs..
I have seen the same problem with other large AV suppliers as well, the scanning engine just overwhelms the system, which is often taxed due to the 'upgrade' to XP.
At the rate we re going, it will take a 2nd CPU just for scanning..
Your only real choices are to get a statement that the license is legal, or quit your job..
If you *knowingly* install it, you are as liable as the shop is. Having the statement above would let you off the hook. But dont hold your breath on getting it.
The part that 'outsourcing supporters' fail to understand/accept is that if all these high paying jobs are lost in the name of ' lower cost of goods', how do you propose that these people afford all this wonderful low cost stuff?
If they arent working, it doesnt matter much that the nice new shiny IBM costs 1/2 what it did when they were working for IBM..
Now, i dont have the final answer as this is also a trap if left unchecked.., but i do know outsourcing overseas is NOT tit..
It IS normal. Its not theft.. Its not wrong ( morally ).
The laws need to be changed back to represent the peoples wishes, not the corporations. Once that is done this whole issue will be dead and we can move on to something that actually matters.
Sometime ago this judicial body had decided that it was within their charter to effectively create legislation at will, and simply ignore the constitution.
This is just one more example of a good system that has gone terribly wrong, and is in dire need of repair.
*ANYTHING* can be used for illegal purposes..
I guess this is what you get for having a bunch of lawyers running the system.
Now pretty much anyone that makes anything can ( and will ) be sued. So much for the 'service economy', its now the 'litigious economy'.
It appears they do now.

Seems they dont have a problem, as it *defaults* to secure.
Apple also tries to speak to the *user*, not 'yet another IT support person'.
Konqueror has the 'integrated search bar' too ya know...
If that is the case, and their only choice is to die, screw the FDA..
I can see an issue if its NOT the last resort. But if this is the last and only way to stay alive, i dont think the FDA has any right to say no.
Besides, if they wont approve it, another country will. And we miss out on yet another medical advancement..
Not a good comparison, as if you get an old machine to run as a 'router', you get a few more features then the cheapo dedicated units..
Ive also found that those cheap 'home routers' that you get for 50 bucks or less are absolute garbage.
As wifi becomes more prevalent, you could easily link back to your home ( or some other place ) for mass storage.
As long as you have something to boot off of, and basic apps, you are set.. This can be done in just a few hundred meg easily.
Or even better, just RDP/NX back home and require almost mo local resources.
While I'm sure you were meaning just to be a pain, you are somewhat correct actually...
Anyone that has used a 'live' linux CD and been happy could easily put that on a 'current tech' flash card.. with room to spare for data...
If you wanted to run winCE, that would work too.
I bet its so they can provide more uniform support and expand marketshare..
"end to end" mentality.

" but i was ordered to kill those people "
It wont fly..

This IBM incident is just an example of a much larger problem which crosses industry boundries.

Would prove nothing.. They would *gasp* lie during the interview...
And the next time you are layed off during a bad economy you will wonder where your benifits are while you search for a new job.
Now everyone knows.. Thanks..

This would only stop the 'uninformed', as people that want to trade in copyright infringement materials will just use other networks..
And in time, those files would filter back to the 'consumer' networks. Back to square one.
Always? But i just changed to that sig yesterday... To make people think...
Those stupid langauge dont count, so why support them?
If you cant speak/read English, then screw you.
Hell, if you arent an American, screw you. Even better.
Ya, mod me down. I dont care. Ill be the one laughing when your job is outsourced. You people cant hide from the truth forever.
And the point?
Sometime ago this judicial body had decided that it was within their charter to effectively create legislation at will, and simply ignore the constitution.

Home lusers dont need a 'home network' anyway.
Actually, they dont need a computer either and only serve to screw things up for the rest of us that already know what to do.
Perhaps i dont really care to bother with proper grammar or spelling here?
Proofreading posts on this forum is not worth my time... Posting for idiots like you to read barely is...
The government no longer represents 'the people'.
Therefore its invalid and all elected officials should be re-called immediately.
