    How can you *prove* that you *intended* to download a copyrighted file?

    Files are often faked, and mis-labeled. Who is to prove i was KNEW i was downloading a full copyrighted movie and not a trailer, or a demo copy of an application...

    Or that my wireless wasnt hacked.. or pc..

    Proving downloading is too 'iffy'.

    Only those that write code that wish to lose control of.

    I dont buy those numbers either BTW. That would be just items that are hosted on SF. On top of that 2/3 of what is hosted on SF are 1/2 finished non-applications.. Not that im faulting SF or anything, just that a LOT of people in general never finish their projects..

    Not that i have the answer of how to accurately measure this, only that using SF hosted projects isnt it..

    There are always examples on both sides.

    However I, and many others, belive that overall the BSD license is a good thing. Preferable to the more restrictive GPL.

    No, you are wrong. Plenty of people WOULD give back.

    Just look at the BSD project, and the thousands of apps licensed under the BSD license..

    GPL does more harm then good.

    Why wouldnt it? They dont have to be compatible with their competition.

    The problem is that if you DO stand up in this day and age, you likely risk being jailed ( err 'detained' ), or sued into oblivion.

    Being on the right side of things doesnt matter anymore.

    While you are right, morally, its not how it works.

    There *was* a bill out there to prevent the insane lawsuits aimed at gun manufacturers just for this reason. It died.

    Since the anti freedom people cant get rid of the 2nd amendment totally, the new plan was to sue the manufactures out of existance.

    This 'ruling' will only help support that 'cause' too.

    Next we will have suits against Ford, since their SUV's can be use to haul drugs.. And we have to 'protect the children, right?'
