So they will just let this wither and die off, in favor of 'just us Gmail - its cool, its in the cloud'. No thanks. i like having my mail store local and under MY control.
So when Thunderbird does goes away ( and it will ), any cross platform suggestions, short of setting up my own fetch+imap server and using something like squirrel locally?
You neglect to include the cost of the actual copy/scan/print, and not just storage. Plus depending on the documents, there may have been fees to get access to them in the first place. ( for similar reasons ). Storage is NOT the biggest cost.
There are humans doing this and they like to eat too.
For what its worth, i wont be buying one. While i do prefer iOS over android and the quality of the device, i don't like the limitations that come with iOS products so i choose the alternatives instead.
So, I'll be keeping my 8" generic tablet that i replaced my 7" NT with..
Would be more appropriate for most items that claim to be made here.
Perhaps if you have a % of US sourced parts to go along with being assembled here, but until then its not really made here by any stretch of the imagination.
After buying a nook tablet, I have found that 7" isn't big enough to read a tech manual comfortably, but a 8" isn't bad and is still a bit more portable than a 9.7"/10"
6" e-ink is still good for novels.. but id rather ditch them both and get a 9.7"/10" color e-ink at a reasonable price.
You are talking like a society like Roddenberry created with star trek. everyone just 'doing the right thing' while living under what was in effect socialism.
The problem is that it never works long term. Without true personal incentive to achieve, the engine slows down and eventually stops.
Even if you like it that way, having them reach out and take a feature away sucks.
Reminds me of when Amazon pulled copies of 1984 off of kindles.
I finally got it, but I guess the folk down at the IT department all know my name and hate me for not sticking with the rules.
As the should dislike all trouble makers.

It is an excuse to bilk money out of people, not a belief. They should be outlawed and eradicated. Completely.
Furthermore, I have faith in NO ONE so don't put words in my mouth.
The money in traditional religions is a side effect, not the end-goal.
Now while i don't subscribe to any of them, there is a difference between why they exist.
It doesn't transmit.
It's a fair rule and prevents frequency anarchy (and frequencies are set aside for various uses).
Not all will agree.
Except Scientology isn't, its a pyramid/litigious scheme passed off as one..
At least a real religion has faith, these jokers only have cash and attorneys.
Censor me you assholes. Go on, i dare you.
The entire thing is a huge scam designed to suck peoples wealth dry with a bunch of lies.
Perhaps, but their largerst market is in the US and we dont use metric on an ongoing basis.
One or the other has to sound stupid. Being from the US, i say the odd fractional inch sounds worse.
Works for me. Then you can make an informed decision of what countries workers you want to support.

I can understand why people dislike misleading marketing but why is it a positive thing if something is made in the USA
If you don't understand this, then you are either part of the problem and need to leave, or live somewhere else already.
Support your own country, and its people.

It signifies that people would like another choice. Many of us like the 8" form factor better than 7.( i have both, and prefer 8" for reading )
1 inch doesn't sound like a lot, but it makes a huge difference without bloating the entire device when you jump to nearly 10".
Why not a full 8?

"you have been infected, please call your service provider for assistance"
There were some valid reasons to make corporations people ( such as property ownership ) but i agree this is insane and is NOT what was ever intended.
Besides, the traffic out of my home should be mine, not theirs. Just like a road and my car, they just carry my data to where i want it to go.
But for how much longer now that Google has shown it wants to get involved in mandating ( their ) morals and not be an agnostic search/ad provider?

Costs drop as more people demand it. Someone has to start the ball rolling.
Beginning to dislike you, i am.
I will never be able to trust anything Cisco again.
And you did before this? I didn't.
it shall enter a time of.
