    If someone stole your bicycle or broke into your car and stole your stereo, you wouldn't report it to the police because their time and money is better spent going after murderers and rapists, rather than petty crime such as yours? Is that your logic?

    If you want to compare using Federal agents to go after infringement of some copyright to my bike being stolen and asking my local police to look into it, we have nothing to discuss, as you are an idiot.

    Admittedly it wasn't worded well, but that isn't what i meant. Separate the warrant from making things difficult for standing in the way. Like a protection racket, in a twisted backwards way. "Play or pay"

    While its good to have this as an option as in this case more options are good, calling 911 and leaving the phone off the hook ( prompting a police visit ) is far faster than having to sit there and actually text 'help me'.

    Trying to get more data from an intruder isn't a bad thing, and they did state as long as it was 'safe' to do so.. DHS was not asking the companies to let the attackers get into sensitive stuff and just twiddle their thumbs.

    No one can invent everything, and i still see Google producing new stuff all the time. They would be a fool not to pick up on trends, and include them in their 'suite' of offerings to remain relevant.

    They are also not waiting until the last minute to adopt things, and then do it 1/2 assed, like Microsoft tends to do.

    If you can change 'ink' in the process of 'printing', just change it to a carbon based 'ink', then you can print more traditional traces. Then if you print more of your inert substrate over it, its even 'sealed' from the elements.

    ( and i know its not ink, i'm just sticking with the analogy of a printer )
