Why not put in exemption for software that comes with source code? The presumption could be that releasing source code allows the user to take responsibility for the correct operation of the software. That would be like not holding Ford responsible for exploding Pintos because people could have just fixed the gas tank problems themselves. Not everyone wants to have to examine the source code for every program they install.
Then don't be too upset when P2P networks shut down due to a lack of sharing.:) People who mooch off of these P2P networks are going to find themselves being blocked by many people. I can't say I'll be sad to see them go.
I didn't mind people using my cable modems bandwidth when I wasn't using it, but there was nothing coming back to me. I had 100s of things downloaded from me, but it is safe to say that I was able to download maybe 2 dozen things I wanted. If i could have been given a way to block moochers, I would have kept the server up. But, the developers would not do that, so I killed the server. No loss to me, but a loss (on some level) to the users of Gnutella.
To be honest, I was looking for various re-mixes and popular top40 stuff that I didn't want to buy a whole album for. I knew I prolly wasn't going to find any obscure music that I was looking for.
I shut off my server after not getting any quality downloads and most people not allowing downloads. I was putting out all the CPU time and bandwidth and getting nothing in return.
No shit. The Slashdot Janitors shit them selves when another site puts ads with the news. But, Slashdot does it every fucking day of the week. Either it is an ad for a new book from FatBrain, or an ad about a movie, or some new overpriced toy. Bleh...
Harvest of India is a good place. I have eaten at the Afghani place a while back. I remember them having good bread.
Dunno. I'm going to lunch in 30 minutes. I'll let you know when I get back.
eat me

'Cause trolls don't partake in faggotry.
I know all the Slashbots will go: "Yay! Now MS will get sued!". But they should keep in mind that OSS companies will get sued as well.
I have yet to see a GSOD on my Xbox. I have had it running for 12+ hours at a time with no problems.
Here we go! Let us get those crusty old anti-MS FUD posts going. 'It gives a BSOD!', 'MS is going to gain a new monopoly', 'MS sucks!', etc...

Nice one mods!
I was using Win2000; it ran like a champ.
C'mon. This post is ONLY a year old. Cowboi Neal's Transformer Underoos are at least 15 years old.

I was using Win2000 and it would stay up for months on end.
Unless he is going for the gay vote, then mention Linux like there was no tommorrow!

Katz read this story: http://www.thetimes.co.uk/article/0,,3-2002019668, 00.html so, you might want to keep an eye on your poo-hole or Katz might have a go with you.
I am sure Katz has a good reason to head over to see Junis. The new iMac would be a nice way to get in Junis' good graces.

So, how much if Jobs paying for all this advertising here on Slashdot?
Here is a black hole with measurable dimentions.
