As somebody working on what I imagine will be an upending blockchain solution, it's rather disappointing to have to deal with this. People either think every solution is going to be a scam, when sometimes the problem is the investor is overvaluing them. When things settle down and the industry regulates itself (or SEC forces the issue), ICO's will be the new Silicon Valley for VC's.

This is BS. I work in a data center. The only ones who don't follow a procedure are citizens holding a grudge against a webmaster, i.e. "Little tommy's website is against your TOS!!! Shut it down now!!!! I'm at a stakeout in his front yard! We are awaiting the site to be shut down before we move in!" A.k.a the anti-social engineers. Those are always a laugh. The rest usually send formal abuse complaints, and in the case of the FBI or large companies citing copyright violations, they usually send paper documents. For FBI inquiries, like the one in this article, they usually ask for logs. One major exception is child pornography, they usually ask for everything, but even then, we usually tar up the files.

  13. I've Seen Serenity on New International Serenity Trailer Released · · Score: 1

FYI, there are no spoilers in the post about the movie.

I saw the Serenity test screening in Atlanta on June 29th. The theater was full of fan boys and girls. Joss Whedon gave a speech of how the movie wouldn't have been made if it weren't for the fans (alot of Firefly fans are hoping that speech is ont he DVD). He mentioned how the movie was not completely finished, but was close.

The curtains fell, the movie started and it was like we were back in the Firefly universe. The movie had the same feel and within minutes we were reacquainted with Serenity and her crew. The back story was laid out within minutes.

As for how I'd rate the movie as a fan, I'd say it was awesome. I brought three non-fan's and they all loved it and stole my DVD's. We absolutely loved it. This movie has everything from action, sci-fi, drama, horror, romance, and something the new Star Wars trilogy doesn't have - dialogue that is worth listening to that isn't just leading you along woodenly.

I'm a fan of Star Wars as well and am not bashing it, but where the new Star Wars trilogy was written more as closure, Serenity has fully developed characters which can grow in a new franchise.

The only other movie that had me glued to the screen this year like Serenity was Sin City. Totally different appeal, but nothing out there this year has compared.

It is worth a movie ticket and more.

    (Don't flame me too bad.)

  25. My Quest for the ULTRA Revolutions Trailer! on The Matrix: Revolutions Theatrical Trailer · · Score: 1

When the final Reloaded trailer came out, there was an Ultra trailer for us UberGeeks that wanted a crazy hi-res version. An 8-digit hex code 0x987654321 was used (0x is not used as part of the code). 0x3839 seems to be the first four digits of the hexadecimal code that will be used to download the uber ULTRA-sized version of the Revolutions trailer. Based on the news post: "tick tick tick" related to the download link (which has the 0x3839 in the URL), I've tried time-based digits for the last 4 hexadecimal digits. Examples: 38391200 (Reloadeds time on power plant clock ) 38391159 (ditto, 1 minute earlier :)) 38391105 (Rev's theatrical US opening date) 38393839 (for the hell of it.) 38392003 (current year) 38391999 ('TheMatrix' release year) Plus many others.
