  1. Re:1280x1024?? on 50" Flat Screens from Pioneer · · Score: 3

Its a 16:9 aspect ratio, so the 'normal' computer
monitor reses aren't the same as plasma monitors.

Plama monitors are not meant to be viewed close
up. Rule of Thumb 1.5 X width of screen is the
minimum distance one should be from the screen.

They look like crap when they are resized, or they
don't fill the entire screen when using NTSC, or
    when connected to a computer.

Best viewed with a wide-screen Directors cut of
    your favorite movie.

Do you really think that a U87 vs SM57 is going to
make a difference coming out of a 3-5" speaker?

And most consumer gear is pitiful for this, and
    good gear is $$.

If it is really important to him, he should get a
    professional to do it.

Isn't it illegal in some states, to video tape
employees without them knowing? This software
seems akin to video taping. I know if found out
that the company I worked for did this I would
    quit.

Integrity is worth more to me than a paycheck.
    YMMV.

While it could be considered off-topic, we have
been given a 'preview' on who is in the batter's
circle, since the interviews started not too long
    ago.

for example from Alan Cox's answer at the bottom:
    Next week's interview: Tim O'Reilly

There isn't a 'preview' for next week, nor does it
say that there won't be one next week.

Right, if you are want to have more than one source playing at a time. I understood the poster to want to listen to only one source.

  9. Depends on Audio Quality on Ask Slashdot: Affordable, Functional Audio Mixers? · · Score: 1

Well, if you wanted to do it cheap, just use a bunch of 'Y' cables. You shouldn't get that much of an impedance mismatch with Y's, as long as you are careful with the output controls from each computer. Or you could go to a local music store (Doesn't every city have a Guitar Center?) and see what cheap mixers they have. Hmm you could even use an old stereo amp if it has enough inputs. If you wanted decent audio (an old stereo *might* be decent) get a Mackie mixer they're cheap (~$200) and good for the price, don't waste your money on R$ stuff.
