This. Whenever I go to buy my next car with something like this, I'm going to cover the salespersons eyes and say 'ok now change the station to preset #5' and laugh.
Touchscreens have absolutely no place in cars with relatively untrained people driving. I'd love to see the studies and training for airline/fighter pilots on using the touchscreens vs having tactile controls you can just feel and learn to use without sight.
As a counter argument perhaps you don't want a fighter pilot firing a missile without actually looking at the control to do so;-)~ So touchscreens in cars are ok for the roof mounted missile launcher!
The former most definitely. I *know* google does that and I can opt-out of Google if I choose to do so. How do I opt-out of the NSA recording EVERYTHING?
I'd say we're having an argument here and you just said you were going to "break into my house tie me down and rape me". So you're guilty of a threat right? or does context matter?
uh, when did anyone have 'control' over television or radio? They're one way streams that you are entirely at the mercy of. Hell that's one of their 'features'.
So if someone tells a woman 'Fuck You' he should be charged with rape? Context matters and it's exquisitely clear from the quoted context he was being sarcastic.
The point of the First Amendment is that by default, no they can't assign consequences to speech. Over time, the courts have amended what's acceptable and 'free' speech from those things that are 'exceptions' to the First Amendment.
But it is only things with pressing interest that are the exceptions. If someone posts a threat to kill the president, then yes, that's not free speech and has consequences. yelling 'Fire' in a theater likewise. Both have explicit reasons why they are exceptions to free speech and the First Amendment.
But without a clear exception, no the gov't can't just punish you for your speech. It's the entire point of the First Amendment.
what part of "prohibits the making of any law...abridging the freedom of speech" do you not understand? It appears they didn't teach you very well either...
So what law did he break by speaking again? There are obviously exceptions to this, 'fire' in a crowded theater, direct credible threats of violence etc. But unless it meets those quite well defined exceptions, then no the gov't is precluded from assigning laws to prohibit speech.
I am free to call you a stupid prick, and I am also free to take the consequences of my action.
Yeah but the consequences of my beating you to a pulp are fine (as are my taking the consequences of that action). The Constitution precludes the Government from assigning consequences to free speech.
Nice try to switch gov't actions with personal actions though.
So following you're own logic, the DMV already has this data. They're the ones who issued the plates. So why do they need to be recording it again?
What they are doing is building a location map of where you go and when; not directly but the data could easily be arranged to provide that data. That is hardly what the DMV and gov't are supposed to be doing in a 'free' society.
never assign to malice what can be explained by incompetence..

Also from the article "many debris fields are 100km long by 1 mile DEEP". You aren't going to build a 1 mile tall wall.
More over, the mid atlantic ridge is more than twice that high already, and this wave is going right over it with no issue. Maybe there's some small amount reduction in wave power that could be effected by stopping the debris, but the massive initial shock of the rock hitting the water is still going to create a massive tsunami.
Or did you mean to just hold the mountain in place against volcanic forces? If so, good luck with that...

Wait for the Canary Island volcano to collapse. Swimming won't be an option...moving 50 miles inland might not even help.
It's that cities are hard, Sprint literally has no LTE coverage in DC...at all. They're busy rolling it out to great bustling places like Chattanooga, but not the fscking nations capitol. If you look at their coverage maps for the DC region, Baltimore is mostly covered, the I-81 corridor to the west is covered, south is covered, but DC and suburbs? Not a drip of anything decent.
Our contract is up in a couple months and Verizon is looking pretty good depending on the deal I can get. I'm happy to pay for service, Sprint needs to up its game in a big big way or it's going bye bye
Apparently you can't see the difference between FedEx/UPS and a Government agency? Simply amazing.
whoosh!
if the infotainment system is stuck playing Celine Dion, hopefully both...

See EULA, you've granted them full license to use your stuff.

and the 'in only 3 days' issue. There's absolutely no reason to force a very vague mandate on people with little to no notice.
uh, when did anyone have 'control' over television or radio? They're one way streams that you are entirely at the mercy of. Hell that's one of their 'features'.
pics, but no ads apparently.
You're points are fine. But giving people 3 days notice? What if someone happened to be on vacation?
Yes it's free and you get what you pay for, but reputation is a fickle thing that can't be bought back no matter how much money Google spends...
Agreed. And nothing this kid said in that post rises to anything like those examples.

well aside from PETA ripping you limb from limb? not much... ;-)
It means no such thing.

Think maybe you replied to the wrong comment. My voice calls are fine, it's data that's abysmal.

How do they estimate that? Seriously curious how they would have any idea what your expenditures were.
