John Kerry was the single catalyzing action behind the investigation that took down the international drug and terror money laundering scheme known as BCCI.
BCCI was closed by the Bank of England in 1991. Kerry co-authored a report about it in 1992. How do you get from that to Kerry being the cause of the Bank of England's action against BCCI? What was he, senator by day, crime-fighter by night?
They need some major changes before they can take back their base - the average working class American.
The main thing the democrats have to do if they want to win back those votes, is to quit pouring out contempt on the half of the voters. 2004 showed that you can't win just by working yourself into more of a snit.
It wouldn't be, if SCO had a leg to stand on. Since they don't, it's in their best interest to delay and dissemble as much as possible. Their strategy from the beginning was just to get IBM to make a business decision to pay them off to save the cost of litigation.
I've got to hand it to IBM's management for doing the right thing, here. If companies routinely went to court when they were hit with a litigation lottery scheme, there'd be a lot less abuse in our legal system.
For crying out loud, read the Oregon Herald article that I linked.
I did, and it doesn't support your position. The Pentagon also investigated many other modes of attack, like spraying a hemorragic fever virus at the crowd at a football game, or hijacking an LNG carrier, ramming it into Manhattan, and touching off a kiloton fuel-air explosion. There was NO WAY to know that a particular mode of attack was going to be tried at a particular time. One of the biggest surprises was that it was possible for five perps armed with box-cutters to take over an airplane.
My vinyl records didn't self-destruct when I got my CD player, and my CDs didn't quit working when I got my first iPod. I bought some albums on CD that I already had on vinyl because I wanted a non-perishable copy, but that doesn't make me a "sucker" for buying those records in the first place.
It's the top music-download service in Japan. Music downloads in general aren't as big a proportion of the market in Japan as they are in the USA, but give it a year or so.
Sure, if you select two data points out of the thousands with the benefit of hindsight, you can pretend that the 9/11 attacks were preventable. I remain unconvinced.
With Apple being something of an outsider, I could see giants like Sony Music Japan giving them the cold shoulder.
They tried. Apple launched without Sony, and shot to the top of the market for downloads in Japan in the first week or so. Some of Sony's muscians were trying to cut their own deals with Apple, so Sony quit their foot-dragging pretty damn quick.
This was a source of great amusement to everyone who works on the iTMS.
Basically China is using Apple to finance all the R&D for them and handle the marketing while they make all the actual stuff and take the dough, because the iPod doens't make any money for Apple.
So, from that briefing, Bush was supposed to have figured out that the perps were going to fly airplanes into buildings, rather than all the other tactics that they may have chosen from?
The 9/11 attack was highly innovative in many ways. Nobody expected a plane to be hijacked without guns or explosives. Nobody expected a suicidal hijacker, let alone fifteen of them.
Communism is not a political system, its economic.
I'm sure that will come as a great comfort to the 100 million or so who have been killed by communist regimes.

Isolating them from the hull is the way to make them quiet.

He technically STARTED the War on Terror, and fired the opening shot against the Terrorists,
Golda Meir started the war on terror, when she ordered retailiation for the Munich massacre.

I'm kinda serious about it: How realistic is it for us to buy SCO?
If you buy shares of SCO, you are helping to alleviate the losses of the assholes who are playing the litigation lottery.
If you want the SCO name and internet domains, just buy them from the recievers who will eventually be appointed by the bankruptcy court.
-jcr
The SCO share price oscillates continuously without the input of external energy
Nope, it's getting lots of external energy in the form of checks from the Evil Empire.
-jcr
The case is complicated.
It wouldn't be, if SCO had a leg to stand on. Since they don't, it's in their best interest to delay and dissemble as much as possible. Their strategy from the beginning was just to get IBM to make a business decision to pay them off to save the cost of litigation.

In-house lawyers (all large corporations use them) are not paid by the hour.
Litigation is rarely done by in-house counsel. The in-house legal staff will act as the corporation's managers of the litigators.

You mean the jackass who gave us the Korean war
Oh, give me a break. Blaming anyone but North Korea for the Korean war, is like blaming Poland for getting invaded by the nazis.

What utter nonsense.

What could possibly be worth an extra $50?
Borrow one for a week, and you'll have your answer.

Guess again. iPod is making billions of dollars for Apple.
-jcr
Just where is the iPod made?
China and Taiwan, IIRC. So, it's payback for WW2 as well.
-jcr
Who do you sue?
Sony springs to mind, since they are both a hardware manufacturer and a studio. Makes it rather tougher to play the finger-pointing game.
-jcr
I consider FDR to be the MF traitor who planned the attack on Pearl Harbor.
Thanks for letting me know that I need never take you seriously.

We need to get our own party back first.
Good luck with that, but I don't see any likely candidates on deck.
-jcr
So, from that briefing, Bush was supposed to have figured out that the perps were going to fly airplanes into buildings, rather than all the other tactics that they may have chosen from?
The 9/11 attack was highly innovative in many ways. Nobody expected a plane to be hijacked without guns or explosives. Nobody expected a suicidal hijacker, let alone fifteen of them.
Your expectations are a tad unrealistic.
-jcr
OK, I am for getting Bush out of office as fast as possible.
Clever, but you're going to need more than that to win. Glibness won't get you anything more than the condescension did.
-jcr
Oversimplifications aside, which one is Google? The visionary? Or the profiteer?
False dichotomy. Nothing prevents anyone from being both a visionary and a profiteer.
-jcr
You know, I have this wild theory: Kennedy was killed by Lee Harvey Oswald, all by himself.
I'm also concinved that Elvis Presley is actually dead, and is buried in a crypt at Graceland.
