    Manual retain/release is something that you should have been able to fully understand after a day or two. A week if you were particularly slow.

    Quicktime includes a lot of the Carbon API. I haven't had a look at the iTunes source code, but the last I heard, they weren't in a huge hurry to convert it all to Obj-C and Cocoa.

    The militia, as referred to in the second amendment, is every man capable of bearing arms. The second amendment doesn't grant the right to keep and bear arms, it recognizes it as pre-existing, and forbids the government from infringing it.

    The constitution is not the source of our rights. It is the legal document through which we the people delegated certain of our sovereign powers to the government.

    Because no one really wants to use Objective-C. Anyone who says they do is a victim of Stockholm Syndrome.

    Fuck you. I used Obj-C for decades, and I still enjoy it. Swift is better and I'm gradually moving over to it, but Obj-C remains a powerful and enjoyable language.

There's a spot in my house where the signal is pretty weak, but I found over the last ten years that each new iPhone I bought was less likely than its predecessor to drop out or lose a call when I walked through that place. With my current phone, I can see the signal strength drop to one bar, but the connection generally remains up.
