Windows key is _really_ useful for me in X. It's a modifier that no applications check for, so I can use it for global shortcuts, exactly the ones I want: win+arrow to change virtual desktops, win+d for desktop and win+r for run (XP got this right IMO) and a few for frequently used apps.

  3. Re:Obvious Generalization on There Are Infinitely Many Prime Twins · · Score: 1
There are an infinite number of prime tuples, where a prime tuple is a set of prime integers of the form (p,p+a,p+b,p+c,...) where (a,b,c,...) is an increasing set of even integers less than or equal to p-1.

No, let q be an odd prime, a=2q, b=4q, ..., 2(q-1)q. Now 0,a,b... exhaust the congruence classes mod q and so do p,p+a,p+b,... and thus one of them is divisible by q.

    Maybe if they're pairwise coprime?

Hmm, is this recently? I haven't seen any region coded players here, they all seem to be multizone, even the $NZ100 ones. I think it's more a case of there not being any laws _against_ unlocking them, and there being no commercial incentive - customers don't want region coding and plenty of suppliers produce region free ones.

each_pair is a function call that takes a block (like an inline method). Obviously you need language support for passing blocks to functions, but this is a general purpose feature that is used in many places. In contrast, foreach is a (useful) hack for the specific case of iterating over a collection.
