First up, what the article is describing is not 133t sp34|<. Its just dumb abbreviations used over IM. Leet is generally fully spelt out, just with number and other characters filling in for letters.
In addition, I don't see this as being that much of a problem. I am of a slightly older age group (18 as opposed the 15 and 16 year olds of the article), but neither I nor any of my peers would ever write like that, it's just stupid. In addition I have never seen this in a paper (and yes, I have read papers of people who, according to the article, would be likely to do that), be it fiction or not, except in dialog that would have occured in that medium. I guess we just need to teach these kids that what they are doing is not english, its stupid.
The author seems to confuse the true danger, that of people being to 'get root' on the consoles, and thus pull off things such as distributed denial of service attacks, with the trivial ability of people to patch the various games with hacks so they can show their 133t s| The first is a true danger and should convince people to only attach these consoles to the net by way of a well configured firewall. The second can be summed up by saying "whoop-de-frickin-doo."
idiot. Islam isn't a bad thing. Its people like you that make freedom of speech a bad idea. Did you ever think that perhaps just because a person was Muslim doesn't make them a bad person. You are certainly acting like a culturo-centric Judeo-Christian pig. And also, how is a religion comprable to an OS??? Does your computer run on Islam, I know mine doesn't. But tell me where I can get this amazing OS. And how the hell does the Linux Movement relate to the Taliban??? The Taliban is a government, albiet an illigitmate gov't, and the Linux Movement is a group of people that like an operating system. How the hell are they related?
Wow, sorry about the flame, I just don't like stupid comments, especialy when they make no sense at all. Or when they attact via bashing with no logic.
This is something that we seem to forget. Windows and MS are not all that evil. Just a monopoly. And this leads to a lack of effort in attempting to improve their product, no competition you see.
If we want to see MS lose their massive market share there needs to be a product capable of competing with Windows. As much as I love Linux, this is not the OS. Linux is a server OS, whereas Windows is a desktop OS. So to compete with Windows, there must be an open source desktop OS. Sadly there is only one other desktop OS right now, and thats macOS. Unfortunatly I have yet to see such project even discussed, let alone acted on.
It is important to remember that these games are rtS as in strategy. They focus on the strategy of the game, that is getting well positioned and defended bases, supporting the number of troops needed. They are fairly lacking in the area of tactics, as they are not games that focus on this. Battles readily become so called 'click-fests', superior numbers can easily overwhelm what should be a tactically superior force, and simple tactics are the order of the day (ie the early rush).
Now it would be nice to see a game that was able to combine these elements successfully, and there have been several attempts. The most successful one I have ever played was Star Wars: Rebellion, which had to different modes of play. Its biggest failing was in its tactical mode, while it was decently implemented orders could not be given in a pause and it is 3d without being 3d accelerated, so a large battle can crawl even on a newer PC.
It sounds at least somewhat like the iRiver Clix. Which, given that it's already available for sale, is most likely prior art.
Way to go! Nothing like a frist psot in the morning.
A Mathematica replacement, please.
Sure, if you like hot but sechs. You go girl! (HIGH WEDGE)
