Based on your example you know nothing about the police force and how it's structured.
First the cops that you see driving around in marked cars are actually tasked (for the most part) to uphold public *law enforcement* which includes traffic laws. While most of the examples you have given *could* be stopped if the crime committed is in progress by a beat cop the majority are up to detectives and special divisions of the police force to handle/solve, which you usually don't see driving around in marked cars.
So the so called cops you are complaining about are in fact doing the job for their position.
You do realize that you can write touch screen apps with VB6. I did this years ago for a company that planted kiosks in regional shopping malls. The UI looked very similar to Win8 UI just not as polished.
What if there is indigenous people on Mars (live below the surface) and welcome these travelers with open arms and help them settle under the planet's surface in exchange for interesting technology, different food and clothing material. Then the new settlers start arriving in the thousands bringing diseases and claiming Mars land as their own.
Actually I am surprised that Google turned this off and just didn't hard-wire serving up ads during local content being played. Seems more like the Google thing to do.
Up here in Canada pretty much all cards (debit/credit) are now chip n pin (or will be in 2 years), however it does not mean that retailers only use chip n pin machines, most have both and some fast food retailers (i.e. Burger King) still only allow swipe at drive out windows because it's faster (so I was told when I asked).

- Exercise multiple times a day but at shorter intervals.
I exercise 3 times a day, in the morning it is 30 min of basic stretching and light cardio, at noon I go for a 20 min brisk walk when I can and at night I do 30 - 40 min of high cardio. I find that this is way more maintainable than in a gym for 60+ minutes at a time.
This is what I thought of, basically the newer telescope probably has updated optics and can take a finer grain of image, of course it will show more and seem like it has grown bigger.
Remind me never to pick you as a team-mate for Trivial Pursuit.
I thought that Elmer Fudd was killing them in search of Bugs?
Where do you think organized religion came from? It was a way to keep the tribe under control when the alpha males went out to hunt.
I don't believe you...

If it's the actual cover part which often more expensive than the actual bumper/fender structure why not?
Look for Google to buy Pandora, Spotify or some other service. Internet radio/music streaming seems like a viable option for Google to deliver ads to.
All of these questions like this usually are.

Create a proper tarball (.tar.gz) that is easily downloadable by anyone
How much people still seem to think that OSS is still only for *nix / BDS flavor of OS's.
Because a fucking soccer mom gives two flying fucks about who developed her operating system...while she is texting away on her android smartphone...
I agreed until you mentioned Android. Not that I feel that Android is bad but you should have said "while she is texting away on her smartphone..."
Maybe. Maybe not.

What? it could happen...
Yeah but put them in a big city where there are pricks that will try and cause them to crash.
This reminds me of the scene from I, Robot where Will Smith says this http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0343818/quotes?item=qt0474786

You realize that this is the basis of all large scale research funding?
...the most pledged-to crowd-funder in history
It also could become the biggest crowd-funded flop in history too. Just sayin'
Let me change that for you...
Evil is part of any business plan, IMHO. The customer may benefit, but the customer always gets something bad, also.

How about just zip the data up, put a strong password on it, call her and tell her the password.
To late, no cure but a possible vaccine.
