The report, set to be released on Tuesday, states that the 2.6 Linux production kernel, shipped with software from Red Hat, Novell and other major Linux software vendors
I just ran up2date and got the latest... 2.4.21-20.0.1.EL
I guess they were back-porting a bugfix:)

This spacial desktop organization is just crap. Who wants this stupid stuff? Tabs, panels, expose', alt tab, etc... all solve the problem of navigating a workspace.
This is a 2D environment based on flat pages of text, get over the desire to jazz it up in stupid crap ways. What we need is a real 3D computer, with knobs, dials, and levers; a little interaction. 3D is great for games and movies about hackers;) but stupid for modern desktop applications.
Navtech's map databases are used in everything from Garmin GPS units to Alpine in-dash auto navigation systems.
Southwesten Bell also uses their (mapquest) city maps for our phone book. Although not with an option to zoom.
Seriously, Gaiman rocks. I'm reading American Gods right now and it's very consuming. Sandman, MiracleMan, Neverwhere, etc, he doesn't stop putting out original quality stuff. He's also got a blog http://www.neilgaiman.com.
Isn't Amazon always cheaper than bn? The O'Reilly books especially.
Some employers would love it if they could get people who only know MSWord97. For data entry, they want to keep you with just enough knowledge to do your job. Not enough to find another job and ask for a raise.
I definately need the dead tree version. A small book on unix/linux admin would be nice. Just cover adding users, wrappers(firewall), ssh/sftp, bash, vim, apache, samba, and installing from source for newbies. Less than 10 chapters, less than $20.
Grounds For Change Ethiopian Yergacheffe Nectar of the Gods :)
This would be great for running Condor flocks in a University computer lab. Distributed computing, only when not being used.
This thread is useless without light, colour, sound, heat and airflow.
SVG is Flash's biggest rival, but Adobe has always supported it. I hope this means there will be more open standards in Macromedia Flash.

Does this remind anyone else of that picture browser in Blade Runner?
This site is fun and artsy: Haring (, Keith) Kids
