    Well if the Tech involved seen a folder on the desktop labeled 'child porn' then he'd have every reason to check to see the contents of the folder and inform police.

    Why? Why is it his business? The folder could just as well be nothing but plain text research documents by someone writing a report on the subject or whatever. The tech has no business snooping around, looking at things he thinks look interesting.

    Actually, Google is a monopoly according to the law. By law, you only need a market share of 60-70% or so. Which Google has.

    The "cannot be stopped" part of the summary is complete nonsense. All you need to do to stop the internet is show it something shiny. Public opinion and passion is notoriously fickle.

    It can't be stopped (the phenomenon). More cases like these will continue to appear. And it can't be stopped. Even China's censorship was unable to stop it, and it's a worldwide phenomenon. Showing something shiny won't really help if they smell blood.

    At least you seem to get browser stats more right than everyone else (*cough* Net CRAPplications *cough*). I noticed that StatCounter lists Opera at 3% while NetCrap lists it at less than 1%. Funny thing is, Opera has 40 million users, which is roughly 3% of the total number of people online (according to internetworldstats.com). So great job on Opera and your browser stats at least. It's very weird that everyone refers to NetCrap and not StatCounter when your browser stats are clearly much more reliable.

    Actually, Opera uses open-source software, contributes to open-source software, and actually published open-source software (Dragonfly is available under a BSD license, for example). Also, this is very relevant to HTML5 since it's about the video element. Nice rabid trolling, though.

    I believe his point was that some idiots are whining about "bread and circuses", as if copyright really matters compared to other major things going on. Obama is busy cleaning up after Shrub, and trying to recover the country from an economic crisis. It's not that copyright needs to be ignored, it's that it's nearly irrelevant to Obama and everyone except hardcore geeks when you look at the big picture. So claiming that this is "bread and circus" from Obama is just completely insane and shows that the individual making the claim is completely retarded.
