    Please stop this madness.

Today kids who aren't even in school yet are exposed to a constant barrage of adult-oriented media by the internet, tv, movies and music. Furthermore, we require them to learn the extremely complex tasks involved in the operation of high tech equipment. We all know how some adults don't know how to set the clock on their VCRs or how to turn on the computer and download something from the web. How can we expect our KIDS to learn the same stuff that's giving us adults a lot of trouble?!

I'd argue that most of today's problem kids are simply reacting to this overwhelming deluge of information and to the unreasonably high performance expectations we set them in the technical matters. They don't have time to read inspiring books or poetry anymore. Healthy hobbies like dancing, sports and boy-scouting are "out" while hacking into other people's computers, downloading filthy porn and taking apart proprietary hardware are "in" -- because the poor kids think they will earn our respect that way. And then, when we quite righteously become horrifed at their hacking activities, they're shocked into complete perversity and act out their violent fantasies (fed by pornorgraphy) by shooting their classmates at school.

I say, let the kids grow up naturally. Encourage them to say firm "no" to inhuman force feeding of technology and science and direct them into more healthy and human endeavours.

This is how the history goes. The last family owned the home for over 20 years. The couple constantly argued. He drank too much and she spent too much. They raised a boy and a girl in the house. The boy was on drugs and the girl had an eating disorder. In fact our front door was broken down once by the fire department because the teenage girl had fainted after calling 911. It was a family in turmoil. Finally the man and woman divorced. The man moving down the street into an apartment building and the woman staying in the home. Eventually she remarried and moved her new husband into the home. They finally moved away and left the home in the care of their son and daughter. One night after a drinking binge and being stopped by the cops, the man who owned the home, took a walk through it and then went to his apartment and shot himself.
