Why?
Unless I am a very well known author, so well known that even people deep in the jungle in Africa or people from the hinterland of Siberia know me, there is NO WAY my book get to people in those places.
Getting my book scanned and placed online by google is a way to get my book to THE WORLD.
Profit loss?
No way.
As my book wouldn't be getting into the hands of people living in deep jungle in Africa or in the hands of people living in the frozen Siberia, I wouldn't be able to make money selling my books to those people in the first place.
BUT, as Google scanned my book and place it online, people all over, as long as they can get access to the Net, can, in theory, access my book.
So what if those people reading my book online don't pay me?
I mean, hosting the stuffs on Amazon server is one thing - it gonna have to be hosted somewhere, but the thing that I feel uncomfortable is that if anyone wants to do any research on the info they end up have to pay Amazon.
Raising a big scene is exactly the wrong thing to do. Gets everybody worked into a pissing match. The correct answer is just to know your rights, assert them, and calmly call in bigger guns if really necessary.
The mall already got their big guns (security guards) harassing you, and they in turn got their even bigger guns (the po-lice) and they are telling you that they gonna take your cell / camera away.
That would be the night I ended up in jail for assaulting a security guard. That would show my kid that freedom is worth fighting for and to stick it to the man!
That would also be the same night your kid saw you being beaten to pulp by a bunch of security guards, and then being tasered by the police..
No he does not need a special mentor, nor does he need special schooling. He needs to learn to function in the normal world. This means learning to deal with people that might be less smart than he is.
I am not at all surprise to see dumb answers like the above.
This world, after all, has been occupied by dumb people who think that they are so smart that they know what is good for those who are smarter than them.
