  1. What has happened to LIBERTY in the USA ? on Feds Admit Error In McDanel Security Case · · Score: 1

Looks like the United States of America has lost its shine.

Anyone in the US of A can be officially harrassed by the government (prosecutors are from the gummint, right?) and then after so much harrassment, the harrassers said that they had no case.

So what about the victim ?

What about the ordeal the victim (or victims) had to go through ?

All the time lost, all the sufferings, all the agonies, and the ruined reputation, what about all these ??

In the USA, many people think that money can buy everything. But no matter how much money that poor guy can claim from the gummint, nothing can replace the agonies and time lost and sufferings, and the really painful lesson of being a good guy.

In other words, in USA, there's no such thing as LIBERTY anymore !

    Comprehending anything halfway is dangerous.

Your story of Ming Dynasty's "great adventure on seafaring vassels" is another proof of half-cooked history wannabe telling the world his own half-cooked semi-historical-fiction.

The Admiral Cheng-Ho's seafaring trips hundreds of years ago had a cetral mission - The emperor sent Admiral Cheng-Ho out to search for, and kill the emperor's political rival - his own brother.

You see, the Ming's emperor overthrew his brother and grabbed the throne for himself. There was a great bloodbath, but after the bloodbath, nobody could find the body of the "former" emperor.

    That made everybody worried.

What if the old emperor came back, with his own army and supporters ?

What if the old emperor came back with the support of most of the people ?

The only way out is to look for the old emperor. And story had it that the old emperor had escaped by ship, and was last reported sailing south, destination unknown.

Do you think that the emperor of Ming dynasty was interested in trade, or setting up a WTO type of international bodies to speed up international trade ?

Far from it. All the emperor was thinking about was to strengthen his own grab of the throne, and to do that he had to be sure that his political rival could no longer pose any threat to him. In other words, he had to kill his political rival, inside or outside China.

Admiral Cheng Ho was nothing but an assassin disguise as an ambassador. All his eight seafaring trips, travelling as far as the East cost of Africa, was to search and kill his emperor's political rival.

    That's all.

To put anything else on Cheng Ho's trip is just plain silly.

Do you know what prompted Ming dynasty to clam shut China's border later on ?

The failure of Cheng Ho to locate his emperor's political rival had made the ruling clan very nervous, and they were afraid that the political rival, and his offsprings, could come back from overseas and attacked them.

That's why they shut down the border and didn't allow anymore international trade.

You see, history is a very nice thing to learn, but if you wanna learn history, please be sure to know the entire story, not just a part of it.

You can show the year, date, time, place, but if you don't know the entire story, all the things you have shown will all come to naught.

Because your conclusion is based on your partial understanding of the Ming emperor's intention of sending Admiral Cheng Ho for his eight seafaring trip, your conclusion is unfortunately just plain wrong.

The reality is that no one can produce, however we have tried, a perfectly bugless software.

And there is no way we can be certain that our softwares don't have any unintentional vulnerability either.

Nobody likes software patches, but it is a necessity if we want to make our softwares work better.

The question is not how fast one makes the patch - although it's very important - the keypoint in making patches is how EASY we can make our patch-delivery system works.

No doubt that the Linux patches, at least most of them, come out way faster than those of the MS-Windows camp. But there is _one_ thing that we can learn from Microsoft - they have made their patch delivery system (aka www.windowsupdate.com) something that can be used by most users.

I am not saying that the Linux patching process is cumbersome, but we gotta admit that the average users (not sysadmins) just can't begin to understand how to patch their Linux boxes.

If we can come up with something that approach the ease of www.windowsupdate.com, perhaps Linux can be used by even more not-so-tech-savvy users.

I know, I know, there's a world of difference between MS-Windows and Linux, but what I am talking about is the deliverance of our software patches - and in this case, Microsoft has something that we can learn from.

If the above is true, then why don't we see CIA do something about countries like Saudi Arabia, Malaysia, Syria, Indonesia, Libya, Sudan ?

These countries are _actively_ supporting the moslem terrorists which have wrecked havoc around the world - from the American embassy bombing in Kenya to the 911 World Trade Center incident, to the Bali Bombing, to the Jakarta Marriot Hotel Bombing to the plot to kill president Bush and the Japanese Prime Minister in the coming October APAC meeting in Bangkok ?

The countries above have had records of giving aids to the terrorist groups, with money, training, intelligence, manpower, weapons, and provide safe havens to the terrorists.

What matters here is not the invasion of Iraq, but the eradication of those religious fanatics with their fervor bends to "destroy the infidels at all cost", whatever that mean.

One prime example of the one who is giving all kinds of aid to the terrorists is the country of Malaysia, which is providing the terrorists with safe shelters, military training (including bomb making, tactical planning, strategic and logistic assistances, weapons, money, and psychological-warfare in engaging the western world).

All the above activities are well known, and I believe that the CIA has duely recorded all these activities.
