    It depends on which American high school you're talking about.

    I've been to some high schools that are packed full of high achievers and I've been to some high schools where each and every students have to gone through a metal detector before they are allowed to enter the school compound

    There's just no justice to do any comparison between the two because their differences are so great they are much more like school systems from two very different countries

    If it's warp speed, it's a compress space thingy. Lights should be able to pass through compress space, so, theoretically, people on spaceship that travels through warp space should be able to see light from outside.

    But if that spaceship travels faster than light - that is, if that's possible at all - then no outside light should be visible.

    About hyperspace - since it's a puncturing a hole in the space/time thing, ... light travels _within_ the space/time constraint, so, there should be no light in the hyperspace, either.

    MIT is, in all manner as guilty as the prosecutor in making Mr. Swartz life a living hell.

    No word of condolence from MIT is believable.

    They weren't after him for downloading articles. They were after him because of his work on demandprogress.org, rootstrikers and other political activism. As with the dubious accusations (not charges) against Assange, the charges over Schwartz' alleged crimes were trumped up to stop him from doing what he obviously considered important work: political activism challenging the status quo.

    If one has to finger point, one has to finger point oneself.

    We, the people, are the guilty party.

    It is because of us, the people, who allow the government to do whatever the government wants - including filing trump up charges against Aaron Swartz, - we should at least be frank to ourselves of our own guilt.

    Without the consent of the people, government can't do what it does.

    That "condolence statement" from MIT is nothing more than crocodile tears.

    MIT did not stand idly by when all these happened.

    MIT was instead, actively siding with the US government against Mr. Swartz and others.

    I still do not understand why the journals are locked away in the first place.

    I mean, if the journals (some of them anyway) are sensitive in nature, like nuclear science or biological warfare or stuffs that could be employed by the terrorists, then I wouldn't have any objection if the journals are kept in a safe place.

    But if the journals do not contain sensitive information, why locked them up in the first place??

    China has been dragging its feet on global warming reforms. China has been emphatically objecting to any cut in its produce of green house gases (and other pollutants).

    Now that Beijing (and surrounding cities in China) are being blanketed by the thick polluted and toxic fog, the Chinese leadership may be forced to alter their strategy and move away from pollution-generating industries.

    Nowadays, countries that are supposed to be "FREE", such as Australia, New Zealand, United Kingdom and United States are becoming more and more like those rogue states.

    Freedom of the Press is exactly what it is, the freedom of the media to report what they want to report, and it is not limited to government, or to corporation, or to social movement, or any other subject that you may (or may not) think of.

    The other day I was chatting with someone from an Islamic country and the guy told me that he **WAS FORCED TO DOWNLOAD PIRATED MOVIES** because of the censorship that was being practiced in his country.

    He posted a list of movies that he said he had to pirate because they were ***ILLEGAL*** in his country.

    The local cinemas were prohibited from showing those movies, and he couldn't buy any legal version of those movies on legal DVDs either.

    Among the names of the movies that he posted, I only remember two of them, and they were:

    and

    Babe http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0112431/

    The person claimed that he felt bad for downloading the pirated version of the movies but he had no choice.

    Walmart has many stores in China, and Walmart is going to set up shop in India very soon.

    Last time I check, both China and India are regarded as "3rd world".

    BTW, that "Sakar International" doesn't sound legit. Even their site is really lousily built.
