    Now that someone finally showed us that 80% of the clicks on Facebooks are from bots, I want to know if similar thing is happening in Google+

    Specifically, has anyone ever try analysing the clicks they got on Google+ to see how much of that were from bots?

    No, who own the bots is not important - what is important is that if both Google+ and FB been infested with clicker bots, then the commercial interests might as well pull out of all social media

    You would be surprised that no matter how much "free will" those of us who do not use fb exhibit, there are still patents that are traceable, and predictable

    The software checks if person of interest holds a Facebook account. VoilÃ! If he or she doesn't, it should mean he/she will commit mass murder. Couldn't be easier, I guess...

     
    I guess the cops should arrest all those new-born babies - they don't have their fb accounts yet, or do they?

    If you want to catch a criminal, you need to think like a criminal

    To be successful, you, as a criminal, must know your victim's vulnerability - either they are alone, weak, or they are far away from others' ear shot .... and ... this is important - the place you commit your crime must be familiar to you - or it wouldn't be so easy for you to get away - and in cases involving murder - you, as a criminal, must also know where to dump/bury/hide the body before you commit the murder

    Many times crimes were solved because of the sheer sloppiness of the criminals

    As for throwing dice on the map - I'm afraid it would not be easy - unless of course, the new location happens to be a familiar spot for the criminal

    It all boils down to statistical analysis

    Let's say you own a grocery store, and there's one particular item that shoplifters like to steal

    You, as the owner, can do one of three things -

    A. Stop carrying that item in your store

    B. Keep that thing close to the counter to cut down on shoplifting

    C. Fix a hidden vid cam near where you put the thing and start recording

    I mean, how would we know that no one has been thrown into a jail cell because of that ?

    There are thousands upon thousands of arrests been done every-single-day and while most of those arrests are justified, I can't guarantee (and I do not think anyone can guarantee) that all the arrests had been done in a kosher manner

    When prediction goes, one could always predict that, given a time frame, something will definitely happen - such as plane crash
     
    If TPTB is really interested in saving lives, they could have done more to predict future plane crashes and then do something to prevent it from happening

    In addition to modern music, I do enjoy classical music, and yes, there are repeats (and repeats-of-repeats) embedded in many classical music
     
    In fact, there's a genre in the classical music where the same tune is repeated and repeated - sorry, brain still not functioning at the wee hour, can't think of the name of the genre

    I tried, yes, I really tried, to read through TFA, filled with scientific jargons and graphs and such

    And then I read the summary on economist.com

    Both mentioned "10 chords" that were used most

    Unfortunately, after reading both articles my eyes have gone bonkers, and now I simply couldn't locate the "10 chords" that they were talking about

    Which are the "10 chords" that were most regularly used?

    Anyone??

    What's the use of studying politics, government and state if it isn't related to finding better ways to "influence" (subjugate) the population?
     
    Just like Zoology - it's a study of the animal kingdom - but what's the use of studying the animal kingdom if there isn't any step further - like improving / changing / experimenting on the animals (all the way to the genetic structures of the animals) ?
     
    Political science is the study of politics, but the aim of political science is not only to understand, but to improve upon the process

    I had (past tens) a fb account

    I had it when fb was still brand new (back in 2004/2005 or so)

    I logged on fb but didn't feel I liked that place, so I stopped going to fb altogether

    It had been 6 or 7 (or 8) years (I lost count) I last visited fb, and I do not missed it, not even a bit

    Am I qualified to be a terrorist now?

    They don't teach you mathematics because you'll need to calculate the area of triangles at work, they teach it because it forces you to use logical thinking to solve problems. Critical thinking and logic are essential to solving problems in the real world, no matter where you are.

     
    I am not a bit surprised to see a Political Science professor suggesting the dropping of Algebra from high school curriculum
     
    After all, the objective of political science is "Controlling", and students who never get to learn Algebra (and other logic-based subjects) may grow dumber, and dumb people are easier to control
     
    Do you know that they _ARE_ doing similar things in England?
     
    In England, in some schools, students do not received grades, and they do not know how they fair inside their own class - because, according to those so-called "experts", they do not want to "hurt the feeling of those children who aren't doing well"
     
    In other words, they _are_ doing everything they can to dumb down the future generations to the lowest common denominator

    The US government does not benefit anything from this, but on the other hand, those who are paying the politicians, ie, the king makers get to thumb their collective noses down to the rest of us
